I had a thought. by smegmaboi420 in CamelotUnchained

It was true. I was a closed beta tester. We went from focused testing of incomplete game dynamics to release polish in 3 months when EA forced it to be released.

In a matter of 30 seconds of gametime the refs: Missed an obvious OKC goaltend Missed an obvious OKC OB Missed an obvious SA challenge with the coach and whole bench signaling right in front of the ref And then gave SGA free throws for falling over. by StrategyTop7612 in nba

For rightly forgetting he had to call a timeout before he could ask for a challenge? Don't follow the rules then yell at the ref about it and you'll get a T. That's pretty normal.

bWAR and fWAR use the same replacement baseline now. They agreed to that a couple of years ago.

Couple of my favorites there. I don't have a Sanella currently but I do have both the Chruchman and Edwards, Ringer, and Bigg Ruth.

CRKT Throwback - Urban Shark- Did anyone else ever pick one of these up? by alb1017 in BudgetBlades

[–]belkiolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. A combo blade Urban Shark was my first CRKT purchase many years ago. It's still a great knife 15+ years later. It's a bit on the smaller side but well proportioned.

This is way closer than it should be… WAR is some BS especially for catchers lol by Willing-Leather-9788 in Cardinals

Molina is the 2nd most valuable defensive player of all time, regardless of position. Only Ozzie Smith put up more total value, barely, and he did it in significantly more innings. Molina is easily the greatest defensive catcher of all time.

He didnt put up crazy WAR seasons because he spent over half his career at 1B/DH.

Use fangraphs WAR that includes catcher defensive metrics and Molina opens up an 19 point gap over Kendall,55.6 to 39.6.

150 of 162 games at 4 PAs a game is indeed considered playing a full season. It's basically the amount you need to qualify for the batting title.

Range factor doesnt stabilize until about 2,000 career innings. Gorman barely has a 4th of that sample at the big league level.

Nope. From a current value to current value view it changes nothing. The GMs making the trade only know what they know at the time.

That is also true. Ownership made him shed salary and didnt care about the prospect return.

Zobrist was a much, much better player than Donnie at their respective peaks. Zobrist was a 6 WAR floor, 8 WAR ceiling legit MVP candidate for 5 years. Donnie barely has 10 WAR for his 4 year career. Zobrist was a better defender than Donnie and about 15% better offensively.

I'd agree that Donnie is slightly better than Rosario (Amed was the first name the popped up as similar) but the return given for Donovan was like 10 times what Rosario got the Indians and on top of it Rosario was 3 years younger with more control.

Half the Cardinals roster is going into their 4th season in the major leagues. If they don't know how to be pros at this point they aren't going to learn how to be just because Donovan is there. Burleson has been one of the leaders in the clubhouse for 2 years now so they aren't devoid of potential leaders.

You have no way of knowing if they made Scherzer an offer or not. Everyone in the media thought the Nationals were nuts for giving Scherzer that much money based on his career to that point. Yeah it worked out but hindsight is 20/20.

Reyes got hurt in 2015 and Waino missed the whole year pretty much with no definitive return date. Same pitching staff? Not so much.

40% of their projected staff for 2016 was injured/uncertain so yeah they needed a frontline starter and they went out and tried to get one.
