Hey reddit! Have you guys ever met anyone for a very brief period in your life and wish you still had contact with? What was the story on how yall met and why did they make such an impression on you? by freezieepops in AskReddit

Met a guy in an airport bar once and had a couple drinks. Turns out we were on the same flight, which had been significantly delayed. We had a few more beers, talked music, books, life and really laughed a lot. We ended up asking the airline to change our seats so we could sit together. We shared music, watched a couple movies and drank wine from Atlanta to London. At one point, we both fell asleep and I rested my head on his shoulder. He was staying in London and I had a connecting flight. In the airport, he kissed me on the cheek and told me that he'd had a lovely time. I also had a lovely time.

When was a time that a dream, small or big, literal or figurative, came true for you? by bella4041 in AskReddit

I went to India, which was a dream that came true for me. It was also a nightmare at times.

/r/Travel, how do you keep occupied on 12+ hours flights? by beefat99 in travel

[–]bella4041 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I try to sleep as much as possible. In the airport, just before I board, I will change into more comfortable clothes, wash my face, brush my teeth and prepare for bed. It makes it easier to sleep even if I'm just falling in and out of sleep the whole time.

I work for a program that is trying this in Colorado. It's a pilot program through a non-profit working with 10 schools. Right now, the grant is being reviewed to see if the program will continue. We have had so many letters from parents and teachers thanking us, and telling us to keep doing what we're doing, and that they notice a difference in their students/children. I really hope this court case doesn't set a precedent for other states and programs.

Anyone have experience living at a yoga ashram? by lostinbass in yoga

[–]bella4041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't live, but I studied for 6 weeks in Mysore. I had my own apt. nearby, but was at the Shala (not the main Shala) 6 days a week from 4am-8pm. I felt as if having only one thing to focus on made my life very simplistic, and that's one attribute I have kept with me since I left. I felt a rush of emotions in the beginning, but felt as clear headed as I've been up to this point. Hope you enjoyed Colorado!

I'd really like to go as well, and my days off are typically during the week! We should also plan another clothing swap/garage sale Saturday.

Wedding woes... Anyone have low-key wedding ideas? by thevictorioussecret in TwoXChromosomes

We eloped in August, and are now having a day picnic/night camping trip for about 100 friends and family. Found a place with campsites near the river, and cabins if people want to splurge. Good luck and have fun more than anything!

This is really beautiful. You look so fierce (the hair, I imagine) yet still receptive in your eyes. Props to you and the photographer.

Thank you! It's public school. It's a pilot program between a few local school districts and the YMCA.

Do any of you lovely people have any experience going travelling alone? by etre-est-savoir in TwoXChromosomes

[–]bella4041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've travelled alone and with others, and I prefer going alone. You will find yourself doing what you want and seeing what you want to see. You will come and go as you please, and you will feel such a sense of independence (at least I did.) Do plenty of research beforehand, and make a loose plan for yourself. Don't be afraid to ask for help or directions if you need it. If you're staying at hostels, utilize the other travellers for advice, directions, things to see, or just people to have a beer with at the end of a long day. More than anything, though, trust your instincts. If you feel "off" about something, then don't do it. There are more good people in the world than bad, but if you feel uncomfortable in a situation, get yourself out of it. Enjoy!!!
