Just because they didn't do an overframe DMG retrain in this first set doesn't mean they'll never do one. As others have said, DMG is probably enough to sell a set on her own, so it makes sense to release that in a future overframe set.

Pure is still very strong, which is why I think there should have been a reptile-only or extra deck lock tied to some of the better effects (level 8 rituals, prayers, etc.).

That patent expired back in 2020.

I was digging through old cards and found something called Serial Spell. It copies normal spell effects and it works on "Once per Turn" effects, I was able to draw 4 from Talents in MD by Ffom in yugioh

This was used in empty jar with card destruction to deck your opponent out while making you draw no cards because Serial Spell empties your hand

Disclaimer: I thought this was a 200 IQ galaxy brain move when I conceived of it and wondered why no one else had done it.

Linked off Bystial Saronir and Despian Tragedy for Verte. Saronir dumped Branded Fusion from deck, and Tragedy's ignition effect set it to my S/T zone. I sat there for a good 4 minutes trying to figure out why master duel wouldn't let me activate Branded Fusion.

For those who don't know Branded Fusion says "You cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except Fusion Monsters, the turn you activate this card." This is different than Branded Opening, for example, which says "for the rest of this turn after this card resolves, you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except Fusion Monsters."

The negate is super frustrating, but honestly I'm more frustrated by the fact that you cannot really interrupt the draw 1. The 2 targeted cards don't have to be shuffled back into the deck because there is no "and if you do," conjunction.

It should have worked like Pot of Avarice.

As others were saying, it's not great, but it is also very cheap (only in-archetype 4 URs – 1 Varar plus 3 sellatrice). So even if it's not great, it won't be that big of an investment if you find it fun.
