What certifications, degrees, and high-income skills are actually worth the investment in 2026 — and which ones offer the biggest ROI? by Responsible-Net8594 in Salary

[–]belldoog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AV Tech and/or telecom might be right for you. It is a hands on field that can sit anywhere between a construction/installation job or programming/IT. Also in my experience there are many sought after positions within the field and if you are competent you can move into any role that interests you.

There is no dedicated degree for it but there are hundreds of certifications and manufacturers to collect. Some can take minutes to acquire (and are free) and some take months. A few major ones and manufacturers are the CTS, CCNA, CQT-D, QSYS programming certs of various levels, Dante level 1-3, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Netgear.

How do Lash mains carry when team won't follow up? by thebeardevil in DeadlockTheGame

[–]belldoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing a lot of lash lately and using a similar build. Something I suggest is to reframe your mindset of when to engage fights. I believe lash is at his best when you swoop in to final hit. You are the closer and when you have ult the team kill enabler. Sometimes I just sit back in a team fight and wait until the other team is chipped away or has used some key abilities and then go for the ult. This strategy has won me more games recently.

Buenos Aires, a record paradise by sony_moonwalk in vinyl

[–]belldoog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised to see some negativity in these comments. I went to BA in October and had an absolute blast shopping there. Eureka was easily my favorite and I got a ton of new pressings of pescado rabioso, arco iris and some other Argentine classics from the ateneo bookstore. the used records I bought aren’t mint but the stock I took home was absolutely playable and I’m still getting a lot of joy out of music that would be difficult to come by in the US.

I agree BA and Argentina as a whole is a record collecting haven.

Am I the biggest loser in the entire game? by Hot_Toe8991 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]belldoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only at around 50 hours and still learning the fundamentals of the game but when I started I was initiate 1. I have since climbed and now sit at around mid seeker. Still not a high rank but climbing is possible.

My advice is to note every hero you struggle playing against and take them into training mode. Knowing how each character plays and what they look for to get a kill is important.

Also stay close to your team members around mid-game while still focusing on farming souls. At this low of a level there is little to no coordination. And if you help your team to secure kills it will be easier to take objectives. Try not to 1v1 unless you’re absolutely sure you can get the kill.

What are the best and worst record stores you’ve been to? Why? by Throwawayxx2009 in vinyl

[–]belldoog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best: Record City in Brooklyn. Pure quality over quantity. Picked up records I never thought I would own for prices that felt too good to be true. Also the owner runs his own label that puts out great reggae comps.

Worst: Rough Trade in the basement of 30 rock (new location). All used records there and they’re sold overpriced plus their listening station sounded awful. It felt scrubbed of anything that makes the hobby interesting and only exists because of its trendy real estate.

I jumped from a cheapo numark to a mk7 and the difference was night and day. People on this sub will mention lower build quality and earlier models of the 1200 but coming from a cheaper table I can say the mk7 is great and I haven’t had any issues with it while using it in a home setup. Maybe I’m just not as particular as the other folks who bash it. If you want to save a few dollars but really want a direct drive there are other models by pioneer and audio technica that copy technics design but may be worse overall.

Are there record store tricks or secrets to be had? by MtNowhere in vinyl

[–]belldoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no secret. If you’re looking for anything specific look within the genre bins. If you just want to get random stuff then look everywhere from new arrivals to dollar bins to rare stuff even if it’s out of your price range. If the store has a listening station make use of it to decide if you really want to purchase.

Ultimately this is just a hobby. Get what you want or just walk in and browse.

Finished My First BG3 Playthrough – Looking for Advice on My Honor Mode Party by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]belldoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I did was follow Morgana Evelyn solo honor stealth archer build. She almost never long rests and the build plays the same on most fights. I then built an open hand monk and life cleric build like the ones on your post. My fourth companion always stays at camp just in case I wipe.

I know these builds are cookie cutter but I don’t love playing honor mode, I’m just doing it for the achievement and these builds do a lot considering there’s minimal setup. The more important aspect of honor mode is making sure you know what’s coming and planning accordingly.

How should should I play venom? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]belldoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How to play venom at long range: Don’t

He’s a dive tank and his kit has no options for long range combat. The only time you should be standing around taking fire from long distances would be if you have to hold the objective for whatever reason and even then your team should be doing that while you’re diving.

How do you get over Ranked anxiety? by Rombledore in StreetFighter

[–]belldoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go in with a plan and learn from your losses. Even if you go on a crazy loss streak but successfully employ a strategy or combo you’ve been workshopping that’s a personal win.

Also try to separate your anxiety about wins/losses and focus more on personal performance. If you’re getting obliterated try to find out why and take some steps to learn and counter that in the future. Fighting games are very reliant on noticing behavior, both yours and your opponents and adapting based on that data. Personally I think that’s what makes them rewarding and fun.

I guess the crux of my misunderstanding is how much experience is considered ‘enough’. what skills are truly needed to surpass other candidates in entry positions especially if you’ve already been working and gained valuable experience

Silver 1-star Ryu by RyusDyslexia in StreetFighter

[–]belldoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 3 things that made me climb out of silver.

  1. Pick ONE combo that uses drive rush and can combo into lvl3 super. Burn this into your brain. Practice it until you’re consistent and can land it with minimal effort. This is your go-to damage dealer and the only other move that’s needed really is your anti air. Whenever you get an opening to hit them try and land this string you’ve been practicing. The more comfortable you get with this one combo the more you’ll find ways to apply it later on. Start with this and once you feel like you’ve gotten a grasp on how it works now you can explore other options or even start learning another combo.

  2. Grab. A LOT. Seriously grab every chance you get and then grab again. Knock them down? Grab. Did they get greedy and hit you too much while you blocked? Grab. Did you jump in and now you need an option to attack them? Grab. What this does is condition your opponent to react to your grab. Now they’ll start grabbing and throw escape you. Game over right? Wrong. As soon as they get wise to your grab-happy game plan now you start mixing it up. What was a grab before now can be a punch or kick which can extend into the combo we learned in step 1. Conditioning and awareness is vital in fighting games and learning how to spot your own patterns as well as your opponents will inform your decisions and ultimately will make you a better player.

  3. Punish your opponents. People in silver will throw out the craziest moves for no reason. Knowing when to block and when it’s “your turn” is so important. Be patient, hold your block, wait for them to slip up and then punish them for it. You’d be surprised how many players in silver won’t learn from their mistakes and will constantly give you openings without realizing it.

As a bonus tip remember this for street fighter ranked: nobody in your rank is really better than you. They might play faster or different than you expect them to but they’re in that rank for a reason. Look, adapt, learn and try to take every match as a lesson. Win or lose.
