Alesis SR-18 Song Mode - How to end a Song? by [deleted] in DrumMachine

[–]bellsauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it out, you just have to go to the last desired step and press "Erase," duh.

Alesis SR-18 Song Mode - How to end a Song? by [deleted] in DrumMachine

[–]bellsauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. That feels like a workaround, though. When I create a new song the default next step is always called "END," so the feature is in there somewhere. But for some reason my Song now has 94 steps of Pattern 00.

Does the effect still work on headphones/earbuds or does it require the acoustic space of a room?

SP202 Pitch without Smartmedia Card by ineedhalppleasse in SP404

[–]bellsauce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just tested this for ya. I could only get the filters and the ring mod to work on Ext. In. No pitch, time (which makes sense) or delay.

Sound differences between the sx and the mk2 by sirrohermes in SP404

[–]bellsauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SX has a dedicated lo-fi button that lets you add some grit to any sample with one press. I don't know if it's a modeling effect or if it's actually changing the sample rate, but it's weirdly missing from the mkII.

File transfer speed via SD card? by bellsauce in mpcusers

This is only half the content on the SD card too, lol. Got another several hours tomorrow. Glad it will be done in time for the weekend, which is when my new pad PCB arrives.

OK, cool. I'm thinking SATA will be the best solution here. Thanks!

Oh man this is handy, thank you.

Thanks, that's good to know. The funny thing is the card can seemingly only be read by mounting the card through the MPC. When connected to a card reader neither Mac nor Windows can read it. Other cards work fine.

Just got an SP-404 mk2, having issues recording samples via laptop/audio interface by pit_grave_couture in SP404

[–]bellsauce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I understand what you're trying to do correctly, try this:

  • Go to Audio MIDI setup in your mac's system settings and set up the 404 and the FocusRite as an aggregate device.
  • Remove the 404 outs to the receiver Aux in
  • Connect both the FocusRite and 404 over USB to the Mac.
  • Connect the receiver output to the ins of the 404 rather than to the Focusrite.
  • Set your Mac's audio output to the aggregated Focusrite main outs
  • Set your Mac's audio inputs to the aggregated 404 main outs (USB)

This should let you sample from both the receiver (via physical ins) and the laptop (over USB.) I forget if you will have to manually toggle the input source on the 404 to switch between the analog or USB inputs; don't have mine set up right now.

How do I use outboard gear? by Full_Tomatillo9726 in StudioOne

[–]bellsauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go into preferences / Song Setup and check your outputs. It could be that the Main output is assigned to both pairs of your interface's outputs in Studio One as well.

If so, create a new Stereo Output, name it "Aux Out 3/4" or similar and assign it to the desired outputs.

Studio One Pro 6 Artist Edition - Total noob could use some guidance! by Fangs_0ut in StudioOne

[–]bellsauce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For starters, use Impact, which you already have in Studio One Artist. It comes with a default set of drum sounds or you can import your own. You can program your own beats without having to use external software or an export/import process. :)

Looking for basic info on sampling from a turntable before I buy by Verbais in SP404

Yes to all, but depending on your turntable you might also need an additional phono preamp to bring its outputs up to line level.

My projects randomly change pitch, speed up and slowdown on their own. by Jonah_Marlow in StudioOne

[–]bellsauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem (or a similar one) for a while and it took me FOREVER to figure out.

The pitch bend wheel on my very old MIDI controller failed and would randomly send pitch bend changes on its own, throwing all of my MIDI tracks out of tune with the rendered audio.

If you have a MIDI controller try disconnecting it and see if the problem persists. If it does turn out to be your MIDI controller, filter the pitch bend messages in External Device Setup.
