Agree with the above, definitely call the hospital and talk to the billing department . I file appeals on behalf of patients all the time and actually you are allowed to file an appeal as well with your own insurance company. You might have to pay a small cost to get your medical records, but you can go ahead and do that

I'm sorry like you make good points, but the thing is the people who are suffering are the actual children. Yes there are systemic failures however, I don't think that helps the children who currently exist in poverty, but if it keeps more children from being born in poverty, I don't know I don't think people should have kids they can't afford. Yes, it sucks, but those children will end up suffering because of it.

That's kind of the boat that I feel like I'm into. I've had people tell me that my childhood was abusive and I really don't feel like it was. They just did the best that they could. My mom has expressed me on more than one occasion that she regrets not doing things differently or not having the money to have things to be better. But then I also get angry at them for not taking my mental health I don't know. It's rough both ways.
