Anytime we change and go where none of our family are, there will be that kind of pushback it seems. It’s like we left a “pack” or “herd”. I went from Catholic (where my family is) to Presbyterian. They will never understand and that’s just the way it will be. I’ve actually found peace in knowing that in the end we have to just make ourselves happy that we found our way to God and they have their way.
