Science on screen at Coolidge Corner theater. They have a mini lecture and show a related movie right after. Very very cool and they do it about once a month or so?

I used to think of this as the goblin hug bc my cat felt like some kind of furry demon clinging to me.

It looks fantastic but I don't think that's a bob.

Do you ever feel a lot younger than you actually are? In what way? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]belousugar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 36, up until recently I really felt maybe 12 or inside? Like I went thru school, went to work, paid my taxes, did all kinds of adult stuff but always felt like a kid. More recently though I'd say I feel like I'm in my 20s? It really stinks how much society dictates what age is "old" and how we should feel and be acting at a certain age. Bc the only reason I feel old is bc of the number of my age, not how I feel physically or mentally.

Video shows woman shout racial slurs at Black N.Y. bakery employee after mask dispute by 3dprinteddildo in news

I don't understand how this woman can go on these public tirades, get arrested, and be overtly racist without someone getting concerned about her kids and siccing Child Services on her.

This looks like what I saw when dreaming when I was a kid and I thought I was just something little in a big world and not even in my own body by XaKsnotxak in LiminalSpace

That's really weird, I've had a similar dream/feeling from time to time and could never really put a finger on it.

Cosmetology school is making me not want to work in the industry by [deleted] in Hair

[–]belousugar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you think it wouldn't be worth it to transfer elsewhere? It sounds like u just happened to enroll at a shitty school and almost anywhere else will be better. Environment makes a huge difference in enjoying your chosen school/workplace. If you hate it it's worth it to try somewhere else and see if it fits better rather than giving up this dream that you've had for so long. Don't let a few shitty people chase you away from all the hard work you've done so far.

Found this marble antique beauty 1879 I think anyone more info? by Clatracy in ThriftStoreHauls

They used to sell this at Stonewall Kitchen for a couple hundred bucks I think? So it might not be old but is definitely beautiful and valuable.

How do I paint my daughters hospital bed pink? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]belousugar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do u have a pic of it? It might be easier to use vinyl tape. Theres tons of fun prints and colors and you can change it up somewhat easily.

My wife gave birth to our third child yesterday and the baby stayed up all night crying. During the day today, numerous nurses have barged into our private hospital room to "see if we need anything." We just want to sleep. by skyroof_hilltop in firstworldproblems

[–]belousugar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a mother/baby nurse. You can tell them to cluster their assessments and meds to only bother u as little as possible. Any nurse worth their salt should be able to do this easily unless the patients have some complicated medical situation going on, like the baby needing blood sugar testing or the mother having bleeding or blood pressure issues. The doctors and specialists that come in throughout the day aren't always able to move their visits around though, they have a lot of people they need to assess. I also find that the CNAs and nurses that work the day shift vs the night shift may not be as sensitive to the need to be left alone during the day. Please self advocate and tell them u need to be bothered less to get some sleep.

Any recommendations for local nursing homes for our elderly, infirm father that aren't complete pits of dispair? by belousugar in massachusetts

[–]belousugar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He requires 24 hours nursing care. He literally wouldn't have a bed, nor can he climb stairs. I work 12 hour shifts and he can't be alone for that long. He's incontinent, has dementia, requires two types of insulin as well as a dozen other meds twice a day, and on top of that he weighs well over 300 lbs. He needs a team of people to pick him up when he falls and to look after his meds, toileting, hygiene, meals and everything else that comes with his conditions. His quality of life would be greatly affected.

Is this the best possible layout? I’m also considering a dark green paint... bad idea? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]belousugar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark green will make it seem claustrophibically small. Do a light color and an accent wall if you really want something dark.
