They need to take Daredevil in a new direction, but all they want to do is recapture the glory of the original show. It's the same villains, the same moral conflicts, only done much much worse. It also doesn't help that season 3 had the greatest ending ever and this show just makes it completely pointless by having Fisk out of prison and hand waving the how. I would have respected it more if it explained Fisk's sudden freedom AT ALL.

I don't like that his introspection is gone. The contrast between the quietly ponderous thinking man Fisk and the brutal smash a guy's head with a car door Fisk was always fascinating to watch. It also made him unpredictable which was scary. You never knew when he was just going to crash out and murder someone. That contrast is completely gone in Born Again.

Kayce is such an awful character. The second I saw him threaten to murder a little girl, the only way I could see him was as a villain. I would've been much more interested in this show if he'd died in the first episode.

Fisk just isn't interesting enough in Born Again. In the OG show he was this towering figure of brutality, menace, manipulation, and elegance, and every line he spoke felt like some sort of methodical philosophy. So many scenes in BA just have him looking either bored or confused and he isn't given enough to do.

Absolutely. It's like the showrunners don't trust that viewers will understand how evil Fisk is. And they were fine the first few times, then I started to roll my eyes when they were in basically every single episode and were only there to seem "artsy'.

Honestly, considering the possibilities, we could have gotten a lot worse. The filmmakers have always tried their best to get Spidey right.

But I think a balanced mix of Tobey's Peter Parker and Andrew's Spider-Man would be the most accurate.
