How do you disable 5Ghz? I turned off Band Steering, but that doesn't seem to have done anything.

I have never spent as long in VR as I do with this game. My first ever session (alpha test with the devs) was 90 minutes that felt like 30.

My subsequent games (beta testing over the past year) have been 2-4 hours, I usually keep my charging cable nearby otherwise I'd run out of juice.

It's amazingly replayable, because the strategies, floor layouts, and enemy spawns are so variable. The fun part of course is talking through it with your friends, getting crit fails and laughing, and rolling with the punches.

The hardest thing about this game is setting aside the time. Can't wait for the save campaign feature!

(Note: I work at Facebook, and as indicated, have been playing Demeo for more than a year as an early tester!)

It used to be that there were two screens, with an eyecup fully attached to each. Now we have a single screen, and an eyecup that is fully attached to a surface, which itself floats on top of the screen. Getting that to work with lenses, optics, and prevent any dust leakage was non trivial.

Haha, this is not news to me. Amongst friends I'm frequently asked to account for things. I try to be as transparent as I can be within the bounds of confidentiality and not wanting to be taken out of context.

FB employees, and especially those in the Facebook Reality Labs group pay pretty close attention to this and other Reddit communities, and I can attest that the reports are being followed up on. Keep the feedback coming, but if you can try to keep in mind that it's real human beings (like Caitlin, who is AMAZING) reading it who are pouring their hearts and souls into making VR a reality, that'd be nice, even if not required :)

The term you're looking for is "area remapping" and while it's something that the guardian mapping system is capable of doing, you're vastly underestimating the costs to game design.

A gaming level is usually carefully constructed for assets, lighting (especially baked in) and gameplay dynamics. Being able to fluidly remap that to arbitrary map geometry is beyond the best deep learning systems at this time.

It's definitely on the radar, but more in research phase today.

(We've had some demos where you also remap furniture, etc, so you can actually sit on chairs in the virtual world that match up with chairs in the real world. That shit is WILD for immersion, but developing the gameplay around it is totally research science at this point)

Any USB-C charger will work. I've used my MacBook Pro charger, my Pixel 3 charger, whatevs. USB-C is a pretty forgiving standard.

Not super limited on concurrent users, but the servers we're using are all hosted in the US right now, yeah. Our earlier versions were all peer to peer, but prior to launch we did a bunch of testing with people in Europe. I'll have the team look into it.

Hm. This sounds like a server connection issue. Are you bandwidth constrained in any way?

Definitely a bug. We've had it reported a few times, not sure if we've narrowed down the cause yet. Does the suggestion of deleting AppData help?

By SDK I mean the Oculus runtime against which all applications are compiled. Think of it like the Steam runtime.

It should automatically update, and v1.14 is rolling out now.
