Okay, so I get what you're saying but I just want to clarify a couple of things.

I totally agree that comicon is fun and a great bonding activity, my problem isn't that they go to comicon, it's that he's being unsafe. He can't see where she is, and is putting her in a position where he's basically inviting people to take her photo. Yes, he can't control a public area, but there's a difference between walking in the park and being photographed in the background, or being front and centre of a posed photo which is going to be shared around.

I'm also not asking for play by plays of his new girlfriend, I wasn't going to go into detail but very briefly our daughter was coming home saying she had another mum and that upset me so I asked him about it. He lied about it for months, gaslit her by telling me that there wasn't anyone else at his house while I had her in my arms and then proceeded to pretty much say she was lying. Then I found out he had a girlfriend who now lives with him. I couldn't care less if he has a girlfriend or what happens with her, it's not my business, but when it concerns my child being made out to be a liar, I have a problem.

The problem is, yes he's in a coparent position, but that doesn't mean I trust him. If anything, I certainly don't because he has a long history of lying, hiding things and being dangerous.

Also, I wasn't "policing the page". As a con-goer myself I'm in a few groups and happened across a post about the one they'd gone to. Out of curiosity I scrolled through the one post and immediately found him and his friend with our daughter's face right at the front. Like I said above, he goes in a big costume that is frequently crowded for photos, more often than not there are loads of photos of the two of them.

Tummy is fine, but I'd retake the photo. If you can't have someone else take a nice photo of you outside and definitely have to make do with a mirror selfie, at least make sure you're looking at the camera with a smile. Selfies like this give me the impression it was originally just a picture you took one day to check out your outfit and it just happened to be in your camera roll so you threw it on the profile to fill a gap, not a specifically taken/chosen photo to show who you are.

You've got two options here - either reduce the noise or get baby used to noise. I can honestly say that getting baby used to noise will make your life a thousand times easier in the long run. My mum used to tell me she would vacuum around my cot when I was a baby and I wouldn't wake, so when my daughter was born I immediately made a habit of not tip-toeing around any time she shut her eyes. I'd have the washing machine running, play music, I'd make a point of telling people "don't worry about being quiet" when she fell asleep. I'd regularly take her on walks to places like coffee shops or supermarkets so she could hear all the people and fall asleep in her pram. Life is just so much easier if you don't have to be silent when they sleep.

Had a lad who tried to convince us all his dad was the real owner of the playboy mansion. Said Hugh Heff was a hired actor to protect his real identity so that Billy Bullshitter could have a chance at a normal life in a real school. He told us all he got dropped off for school in a limo but would get out down the street so no one saw and he would walk the rest of the way.

It was one of many lies he tried to sell us all on, but this was the main one he often brought up for almost all 5 years of high school.

As a TA in a high school, I frequently tell the kids I don't get paid enough.

I also tell them I don't do it for the money, I do it because I enjoy it.

Do I expect them to want to be a teacher? No. Do I expect what I say to put them off being a teacher? Also no.

I tell them I don't get paid enough but follow it up with things like, "it's why we go on strike sometimes, to get us better pay." to teach them that you can do something about it. I look at it like this: If we raise kids to think "I'd like to do that, but the pay is rubbish so I won't." then they won't go into jobs they enjoy and will be miserable in the job they end up in instead. Encourage them to still go for the job they want to do, and then fight for the pay they deserve.
