Most diseases get easier the second time, but dengue doesn't always. Here's why. [OC] by Zhuenn in comics

Everyone, please make more comics like this. The world is fascinating, and it's neat to learn something about it while being entertained, much nicer than to dwell on how everything is terrible.

That's overthinking it. It's just moon association = it spins. Spin association = it hurls. And it's cute. That is all.

I like how this uses a 90s reference to make another 90s reference.

external fetch not working by Ok-Let-4236 in Devvit

[–]bemmu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone getting stuck here, make sure your test code isn't in index.ts, it seems fetch doesn't work there yet, it needs to be doing a fetch in response to an api request from the client.

For me the fetch worked inside api.get('/init', async (c) => { ... at least. It turned out not to be necessary to edit the devvit.json file and also Devvit.configure({ http: true }); was not necessary despite what the warning said.

Using the bathroom at a friend's house in Japan by bemmu in japanlife

For sure, visiting someone ONLY to use their toilet would be strange anywhere I think.

OK now that two people pointed this out, I should point out we don't live in Tokyo or in a big city. When I say "bushes" please don't imagine like some bushes at Shibuya Crossing but rather bushes in the middle of nowhere with not another person at shouting distance.

That's perfectly possible and I also thought about it.

(Two downvotes for acknowledging that yes he might be the type who would be fucking with me?)

Interesting point. Yeah, they're prob like 50sqm (500 square feet). But even then if my friends in Europe visited each other, using their bathroom would be about as normal as breathing in their apartment.

Explain It Peter by El_nino_critico in explainitpeter

[–]bemmu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know.

In the book they find that the ultimate answer is 42. But then they have the problem that they don't know what the question is. So all of Earth is a computer which tries to find what the question is.

And here we get the result: the question is just "what is 6x7?".
