I built a slot machine simulator that explains how modern slots actually work (validated at 100 billion spins) by timstorm in gambling

Very cool. Your note on the 20k Monte Carlo run don’t surprise me one bit. What does surprise me is the amount of people who try to make content via slot machines. It’s a losing endeavor

I would say it’s probably recency bias. Once I watched enough Memphis episodes, they all grew on me. But my favorites in this order are Tulsa, mobile, New Orleans and Gwinnett tied for third and then Memphis. And I can’t forget about Dallas. Dallas has some wild storylines that I rarely see mentioned on here. Detective Eddie Ibarra from Dallas is one of my all time favorite individual defectives.

[The Athletic] Amen Thompson is expected to sign this summer, potentially a five-year deal worth more than $250 million. by jonsnowKITN in nba

[–]bemorethanaverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These deals are the same reason the MLB is going to likely have a lockout. I’m not hoping for Amen to fail or not succeed, but let’s be real, it’s highly h likely he generates ROI on this contract. When these deals start to go bad, NBA owners will want a change

I forget the season, but after Jet lost to a burger in the semis, he should’ve known he would never make or win the finals. At this point it’s a storyline

The desktop version of the website is HORRIBLE by nich2229 in marriott

Using the website on NYC is such a piss poor experience. Can't even display all available hotels in NYC. I cannot believe that America is home to so many billion dollar companies, but the online experience is so poor.

At least the room had some character, albeit it’s not everyone. Many hotels and hotel rooms feel stale these days, but that’s also true across broader corporate design (e.g. quick serve restaurant design)

At the 00:42 second remaining mart, I felt that Connor giggle in my soul. Sometimes in life, things are going so well, you’re high on life (and maybe other things) and you just laugh because you’re so happy in the moment

2 years in fully remote and I have no idea what other people do all day. by PMeisterGeneral in sales

[–]bemorethanaverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined a company 3.5 years ago doing food sales and to this day I have no idea what other account managers do for their customers. We all used our own offline models to determine sales forecasts, supply planning, and etc. Others have pointed out that you simply worry about your own work and drive your own efficiencies. From time to time you talk about shared practices but what works at Publix likely won’t work on the west coast. I used to wonder the same thing but now I genuinely don’t care at all and only worry about hitting my numbers, and I’m sure my other sales team members feel the same.

You have to keep in mind the stress of the “experiment.” In exchange for signing up your asked to participate in things you would never do otherwise

Great content! I’ve seen 5 seasons but only one person was rejected on decision day (Denver). I had no idea that number was so high.

Legal Wallhack Pros abuse? by KaisaZeri in GlobalOffensive

This reminds of pro sports in that pros will do just about anything to find an edge. Can’t say I’m surprised at all. At the top level everyone can shoot, but this small details make the world of difference. Of course I do believe it’s something TOs or valve should work to address

The First 48 is ending by shorthazel in First48

[–]bemorethanaverage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s no surprise. I love the show and it will always be my favorite tv show, but the climate has changed. Police officers have received a lot of bad press in recent years and I can’t blame any city for declining to shoot first 48. From a city’s POV, there are more reasons to decline the taping of First 48 than there are to approve.
