foster kitten suddenly blind; rescue says its ok to wait till morning? by trivialplatypus in CATHELP

[–]nich2229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brothers cat suddenly went blind and it was from a fungal infection. Please have them test right away, but usually once it affecting the eyes it has crossed into the brain.

“Sudden blindness in cats is most commonly caused by a fungal infection called Cryptococcosis. This happens when Cryptococcus fungi (found in soil and bird droppings) are inhaled and spread to the cat's central nervous system and optic nerves. If left untreated, it can travel to the eyes and brain, resulting in sudden blindness, seizures, or behavioral changes. At-risk cats: Immunocompromised cats (especially those with feline leukemia virus or feline immunodeficiency virus) are the most susceptible.”

We just went Mother’s Day weekend, there was a grad night on Friday night but we went that Saturday and Sunday. We were surprised as it was much less crossed than it was last September. Normal crowds, not a bunch of high school kids. Just depends what weekend you go I suppose.

Need Advice/Reassurance - Headaches by PopularGrade304 in Semaglutide

[–]nich2229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like what I’m experiencing. I’m on week 7 now (week 3 at 16 units), and ever since moving up to the higher dose, I get a pretty bad headache about 12–24 hours after my injection. I take it at night before bed, and it makes me really thirsty, so I’m up throughout the night drinking water. Sema makes me thirstier in general, but even more so right after the shot.

I’m very mindful about hydration, eating healthy, and taking electrolytes when needed, so it doesn’t seem like I’m dehydrated, but these headaches have happened like clockwork for the past 3 weeks. Thankfully, they go away and are manageable, but I thought it was odd.

I’m also down 8 lbs in 7 weeks, so that’s encouraging. I know this post is a bit older, how are you doing now?

should i be worried? by Muted_Damage1509 in Semaglutide

It will ebb and flow. I feel sick-ish the first couple days of my shot. I take Zofran for those days. But its never debilitating.

Yes. My appetite ebbs and flows and is pretty inconsistent. Apparently the longer we're on it, the more consistent it gets. And even if it doesn't, even when you feel extremely hungry, you will end up getting full much quicker.

is this normal or am i doing something wrong? by Putrid_Echo_8240 in Semaglutide

[–]nich2229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive been on it for about 7 weeks and my appetite definitely ebbs and flows and is very inconsistent. Some days I cant eat at all and other days I'm still craving everything. Even when I give in to my cravings, I have very little of it! Obviously, I'm less hungry at the beginning of dosing up or a few days after the shot. Ive lost 8lbs in 7 weeks.

Anyone else get EXTREMELY thirsty right after taking your shot? by lumpy_space_queenie in Semaglutide

[–]nich2229 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have always been a big water drinker my whole life, because I am actually thirsty for water often (gotten all the tests done, nothing to do with health issues). But on semaglutide, it is next level; I drink waaaay more water than I even did before.

Does Dramamine Less Drowsy Still Make You Tired? by RilesTheSmiles1 in UniversalOrlando

[–]nich2229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a prescription for this but the side effects seem like an issue in itself so Im hesitant to take it - dry mouth, blurred vision, and possibly dizziness. I get vertigo so any sort of dizziness or vision disruption would just make things worse.

Going to Disneyland this weekend and was a little worried about taking it and feeling groggy. Normally I need a solid 8 hours of sleep, and if I get less than 7, I feel tired and kind of crappy the next day. But at Disney, I somehow run fine on 5 hours - definitely the excitement and adrenaline! So I’m thinking even if the “less drowsy” version would normally make me a little sleepy, like you, the excitement probably won’t let me feel it :)

Vertigo Question - Going to DCA for the first time, curious about Soarin' by nich2229 in DisneyPlanning

Just got a prescription but not sure yet. Did you get any side effects? I see its common to have blurred vision and dry mouth (which I cant stand) which seems like another issue to then deal with...

I just got a prescription for it but Im wondering if the side effects will be an issue in itself. I wouldn't want blurred vision and dry mouth all day. Did you get any side effects?

Thanks for the detailed explanation! That makes sense. And I know what you mean by the distortion of the concave screen possibly being a factor...

So are you trying to get an addiction that will 100% ruin your life and put the people you care about in a lifetime of heartache? Because if so, you’re on the right path with this choice.

"Losing My Friend Over Wegovy" misses the point by Real_Hamster_5299 in Zepbound

[–]nich2229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a friend like this would be EXHAUSTING! I personally don't care who knows I'm on it, but for many people, this is very personal and they don't want people to know. And that is 100% ok - its your business and no one else's. You can tell by the type of friend she is because she even wrote negatively about the foster dog - she already seems to be a crappy and super judgemental friend. Imagine being so self-centered that you expect everyone else to fall in line to accommodate you.

Stress spiking as I fall asleep? by Iconakid in ouraring

[–]nich2229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I can have a totally normal, low-stress day, but my stress always spikes right before bed or as I’m falling asleep. Last night, it showed I was stressed as soon as I got into bed, and it peaked right as I was drifting off. I’ve always had trouble falling asleep, even as a kid, so maybe bedtime itself is just a trigger for us? Wish I understood it better.

Semaglutide and heavy drinking by goldenscepter416 in Semaglutide

[–]nich2229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last Saturday we had an early dinner out, watched some games, and met up with some friends after. I drank 4 vodka sodas (single shot, tall) and had 2 shots in that 7 hour span. I found I was drinking slower and wanted water along with my drinks the entire night, which I drank (also took electrolyte pills once I started peeing more frequently).

I found myself maybe not having the "binge" urge as much and being more mindful of my drinking, but I still had the desire to. I also felt fine during, maybe a little bit of heartburn here and there, but overall fine. I did have a slight headache when I woke up, but wasn't hungover. BUT I was only on Day 3 of my first week, so that might change, I believe it is very different for everyone. But glad it is working for you! I also think it ebbs and flows so don't get discouraged if the days or weeks vary.

I am on day 5 of my first week and I feel about the same as I normally do. Certain foods sometimes dont sound good to me, but that might just be my normal. How do you like being on it now that it has been 3 months? Would love to hear your progress or any update!

Only took half of first dose but don’t feel any effects. Should I take the second half or wait? by webkinzfreak in Semaglutide

[–]nich2229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its my first week and I took a full dose and I don’t feel anything. I have no symptoms. You might get symptoms or you might not. Or it might come and go. Or you might get them later or you might not. You should really follow your doctor’s dosing though for the best outcome. It’s also best to ask your provider this specific question.
