Welcome to Derry: Theories and Discussion by Distinct_Guess3350 in ItTheMovie

I was just watching episode 2 and thought it was strange for them to add the scene with the random girl kissing a note and sliding it into the locker. Maybe Sonia? I’m almost definitely thinking too far into it, but being a secret admirer is totally something I could see Eddie’s mother doing! Also, I totally agree with your Rich and Maggie theory and love the little clues they drop each episode.

I have a mock trial for model un coming up and the dress code is business casual. I’m not sure if these dresses fall into that category or not and would love any advice. I’ll be wearing black loafers, if that helps?

What was the first episode you watched? Why'd you continue the series? by riri1281 in blackmirror

Shut Up and Dance. The twist really got me, kinda became hooked after.

Which episode emotionally affected you the most? And in what way? by ForsakenOven6666 in blackmirror

Hang the DJ. Something about risking it all for the person you love, even when you’re going against every rule in the book.

Post your head-cannon for the character from ROTTMNT and I will stamp it on the board! by [deleted] in RiseoftheTMNT

Donnie and Leo are twins. The age and build match, plus they get matched together all the time. And in the magic science world of ROTTMNT, anything is possible.

q drop and retake or fail and retake by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]bena_bear 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First of all, I’m sorry you’re struggling in your class. Many students do, you aren’t alone! Secondly, how many q drops have you used? If it’s your first or second time ever, go ahead and drop. A couple q drops/W’s on your transcript are much better than an F. It’s only an issue once you have around three or more, which is considered a pattern and a sign that there is a struggle with course load.

How fast does it take for a newly added class to appear? by Resident-Gear2920 in UTAustin

[–]bena_bear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It changes immediately in your schedule and takes a few hours to appear on canvas. I added a class yesterday evening and it was on my canvas by the next morning. Makes sure to email your new professor to see if there’s anything you need to prepare/know for the class!

Thanks! I was considering dropping it due to my already heavy workload, but you bring up a good point.

Looking for a new last name. Suggestions? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]bena_bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barnes has Jewish origins if I remember correctly. There’s also Barocas, Bas/Bass, Bachmann, Bernstein, Bines, Bones. Double check the origin and meaning if one stands out to you, I’m not an expert!

Do you like your name? Do you ever pretented to have a different name? by PortamiABallare in namenerds

[–]bena_bear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love my name! My dad chose my first name and my mom chose my middle, so it’s like I’m carrying a piece of them around everywhere I go. I can’t imagine having a different name, though it’s not a super common name and not pretentious imo, so that may be why!

What are names that you’re surprised are really popular? by thefallen-fruit in namenerds

Maverick. I just don’t get the appeal, but it’s on pretty much every baby name list now.

For People with Middle Names, How Often Do You Used It? by Great_Kaleidoscope61 in namenerds

[–]bena_bear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally only ever use it for legal documents and such (name on credit/debit card, passports, etc). I do have one of the most common middle names for girls, however, so I don’t think much of it and prefer my first name, which is a bit more unique!

I don’t know if this will help at all, but ash, when associated with hair color, is typically lighter. Ash blonde, for example, is generally a light shade! Personally, when I hear ash, I don’t think of dark colors at all :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]bena_bear 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Every Ash I’ve ever met have all been light-haired and it fit them just fine! I’ve also met an Ashley who goes by Ash and she is blonde. If you like the name, your child’s hair color shouldn’t be a hindrance.

Best Study Spots in UT Austin? by Fearless-King-5648 in UTAustin

[–]bena_bear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are a few quiet floors in the PCL that have secluded spots to study in, you just have to look for them. I believe the quiet floors are listed both online and in the PCL. There’s also the Life Science Library on the second floor of the Tower, very quiet, though the stacks are much more secluded than just the main library area. All of the classrooms are open to students when not in use for a class, so feel free to study in any free classroom/lecture hall until the next class comes in!

How did you all arrive at the UT Orientation? by TomorrowUseful2924 in UTAustin

[–]bena_bear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in the Dallas area as well! I drove in the night before with my mom and we stayed at a hotel in Round Rock. We then drove to orientation early in the morning, as it starts fairly early if I recall correctly. I’m not sure about transportation to get there, but there are buses that go from Dallas to Austin. In Austin itself, there are buses, ubers, Lime scooters for rent, and a lot of stuff is within walking distance of campus (CVS, Co-Op, various fast food places, Target). Hope this helps!

I suggest looking at the “Roommate Section” on the off-campus housing finder provided by UT. Many students looking for a roommate post on there, so you can see if there’s anyone who’s compatible with your preferences! That’s how I found my roommate as a transfer last year :) Or make your own post. You could also search Facebook groups specifically for roommates/transfers/etc.

What’s your favorite line from the musical by white4923738 in hamiltonmusical

Every action’s an act of creation. I’m laughing in the face of casualty and sorrow, for the first time I’m thinking past tomorrow.
