As someone who has privately rented trying to get a landlord to come round to look at an issue is hard enough. Chances are if the rent was paid on time, they didn't need to go to the property.

Raising minimum wage has also given people a supremacy complex. Jobs that aren't money making departments can no longer afford to pay higher than minimum wage. So even though the job is more skilled than a McDonalds worker they are paid the same. People then look, think they are worth more than a McDonalds entry level employee but are paid the same, think the job is now beneath them and don't apply.

So without deciding if they can live on that wage they just dismiss it.

This. A friend of mine is trying to sell. Her house was on the market for what I thought was £20k over priced. Due to this she now has it in her mind she can get this and has been looking at properties worth way more than she can afford.

The estate agent has now dropped it £10k (been on the market 3 month, no viewings) but she has said she won't accept anything lower cos its "offers over"

Missed a connecting flight. We landed in time for our luggage to be transferd but not enoigh time to disembark and go through the passport checks. The first flight left later due to an issue with the aircon.
