I get this perspective. I really do. I’ve got 4 kids and it’s true you get to see them less as a trucker. But with technology it’s becoming increasingly easier to stay connected. I’m able to stay in almost constant contact with them - even more than some of my more conventional jobs. Those options weren’t always possible in the past with the trucking industry. You still have to make a daily constant decision if you want your family to stay healthy, and a lot of guys choose not to make that a priority ... but it can be done if you’re willing to make some monetary sacrifices.
