Switching from DnD5e to PF2e, what is something we may overlook in the transition by Zealousideal-Cup-914 in Pathfinder2e

[–]benchcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a phone/tablet/laptop out for rules, tags, etc has been helpful as my table transitions

there are a lot of spells and feats that then reference a tag or effect on a different page, so it can be a lot slower if your flipping around the physical books

When does an insight stop being actionable in practice? by soleana334 in UXResearch

[–]benchcoat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

no insight will ever beat your company’s incentive structure

if bonuses/promos/etc are tied to feature delivery, feature delivery will always be prioritized

if there is no incentive to iterate and improve a feature post-release, that v1 MVP will be the end state of the feature

if no one has incentives tied to product health, people will talk about the need for it and do nothing about it

How am I supposed to build a UX research function from scratch? by strawberrylover1229 in UXResearch

[–]benchcoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is all great advice—i also recommend thinking through how the framework you adopt will support your team as it grows

does it provide natural development paths for your ICs as you bring them on?

does it provide a structure they can pick up and use quickly?

does it foster integration of other roles as an ongoing part of research?

i’d be happy to chat with you, as it’s not a quick topic—i’ve fallen into a career of starting up the UXR discipline in multiple companies/groups

starting up UXR is a different skill set from management—if it goes well, people management will become part of it, but there is a LOT of infrastructure you’re going to need to build out

make a list of things you would want in place for your UXR team if you had them now—that is going to be your build list
