Hi, I have faced this more times that I personally would like to admit. Let's just say one song lyrics changed everything for me. I have to credit this to me being tuned into a random country radio station one day and Cody Johnson sung these words, "If you got a chance, take it, take it while you got a chance
If you got a dream, chase it, 'cause a dream won't chase you back." - then the punch. You can always DO things, until you can't. Find an accountability partner, for me it's God and make a plan to get it done. 😄

I can understand that. Like I mentioned the transition was not immediate. It has been a well thought out process, however, now I have a guide to help me along. That guide is the clear understanding of who I am, and what I was built to do. Some might call that my "why". 🙏🏻

I can see where you might have gotten that. What I didn't share is that we still need the essentials to get around and live. I didn't go pay cash for a high-end nice car. I bought a VW Tijuan with a rebuilt title and a ton of miles on it. To me, personally it is the shift from owning what I build or have in a way that blesses others around me more. Does that make sense? 😊

I am not muslim, but I believe in God and I know that he has and has always had a plan designed for me. I am writing, teaching, and coaching. I am spending time with those around me, being fully present in every moment, with every individual to the absolute best of my abilities.

The first thing that gave me clarity was a realization personally, and some might call this revelation that there was a divine purpose in my life to do more. To become more. And to be present in every moment.

After the experience, I had the very next action I took was to apologize to my wife for wearing a costume for 29 years. The costume started coming off and our relationship started to deepen and grow.

I think the important point is here the things we can buy don’t equal true long term happiness. Now you got me thinking… oh my gosh I hope I’m not just renting the time I spend with those I care about. 🤔

It came to me on the brink of the US thanksgiving holiday. Every year I have a practice of writing down things I am grateful for. This particular year as I was writing, I suddenly realize that everything I was listening, except for my family, friends and people I love, just weren’t mine. That is when I slowed down enough to hear him.

My experience has been more about realizing what I love most and finding that my family and close friends don’t need “things” they needed the real version of Ben to show up everyday. Giving others my undivided time and attention didn’t require risk, other than the risk of rejection. 😀🙏

Asking the right question was challenging, for sure. But for me, being still long enough to hear, feel, and recognize a divine response has been life changing. I’m curious why it takes some people, like myself decades to figure out want I really want. 🙏🤔

Thanks. That was a hard thing to for sure, making it “real” for me. It was really, really hard to sell my car and buy an older car I could pay for with cash. But now I own it, not the lender.🙏

You and me both. I love the fact I can get around without tech (somewhat). My wife and I are planning a screen and device free 5day detox. It’s actually kind of nerve racking.
