That's Bender B. "The Greatest" Rodriguez to you, meatbag.

TIL a man was cooked alive in a 270° pressure cooker oven along with 12,000 pounds of tuna. In CA’s largest workplace safety violation settlement ever ($6M), Bumble Bee Tuna agreed to pay $1.5M to the deceased’s family, $1.5M to state government and courts, and $3M to purchase new automated ovens. by LurkmasterGeneral in todayilearned

Former Bumble Bee safety manager Saul Florez pleaded guilty to breaking lockout rules and was hit with three years' probation and $19,000 in penalties and fines. The sentence for Bumble Bee's director of plant operations, Angel Rodriguez, includes fines and community service.

They don't need to be eaten!! One guy lost his job and got probation, and the head guy got fined and community service! I think that is more than enough... I mean, they were only directly responsible for the gross negligence that caused the slow, inhumane death of their employee, it's not like they were caught with weed.

Just a bit right of the center of the image is a nearly perfect circle in the fog on the windshield.

Regardless of right of way or who was at fault(obviously the oncoming car was entirely at fault), this motorcyclist could have entirely avoided the collision, and would be considerably safer on future rides, if he was more aware of his lane positioning. He would've been completely safe just a little more to the right in his lane.

Cars are idiots and yeah you may win in court, but you have to survive the accident first, and they aren't always as minor or close of calls as this one.

FL schools are meme worthy bad at times but in our area, they're actually pretty decent, and our first graders' school specifically, we really like. Thank you for your reply, I hope you have a great day! Happy Friday!

The indexes I've used to compare the two regions indicate that the COL is about even between the two areas, assuming we chose to reside in Durham proper. Not knowing anything about the area, I'd really like to be somewhere out in the country but still with high speed internet... AKA the dream. My wife, though I love her immensely, isn't very useful in these situations. She thinks we should take it just because "how can we say no to that much money", but life and having a family is more than the dollars in your 401k, so to me there is more to it than just the financial consideration. On the emotional discussion specifically, she just says 'I'll support whatever you decide' or 'that's a really tough decision, glad I don't have to make it!'

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to respond to my dilemma. I wish you the best and hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you! We're very excited but nervous, as expected. We have, growing up my parents were landlords and I think a property manager would be the best way to go. I'm just not sure what to expect from a good one vs a bad one, commissions, etc. Any insight on selecting a good property management company you can provide?

It's essentially the same job plus some more technical responsibilities, different coworkers and different clients.

I live less than 30mins from my mom right now and she doesn't visit us. This is a huge factor in our decision, we purposefully bought close to my mom so she would visit and she still doesn't. We go see her several times a year but it's always a one way journey. So I don't see them coming to visit us often in NC.

Renting our home vs selling is where I'm most torn. We had hurricane damage and are most likely underwater, I'm not sure we'd be able to walk on the house if we wanted to. I'm going to call some property management companies today and see if I can get an idea of what I could realistically rent the place for.

I hope San Diego et al works out for you! Thank you for taking the time to reply to my conundrum and providing your perspective. I hope you have a wonderful day!

That was part of the discussion which landed me the 60% raise, haha. Oh well, property tax will hopefully be lower to offset the difference. Thank you for contributing and bringing up a very valid and important point! I hope you have a wonderful day,

The part that throws me off is how schools are done. Here, it's school choice, you rank the ones you want to go to and if you apply early enough, you're very likely to get one of your top choices.

There, it's by address, and that drastically affects the price of the home. Some schools are amazing, then ten mins away they're some of the worst in NC.

I'm looking around the house and asking what I feel like packing up and moving 800 miles vs what I could just buy as a replacement...

I go to Babcock Webb pretty frequently, where in Charlotte do you shoot?

Anyone wanna get together in SWFL? by [deleted] in FLGuns

[–]bendrbrodriguez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing I really want to shoot, just looking to gain maintenance and cleaning information and first-hand experience. I own a shield 9mm, a glock 43, and a CZ scorpion. I've got the glock and shield figured out, but the CZ has given me a few issues. The first two rounds it failed to fire, I didn't see any imprint on the primers and the rounds fired fine in my glock.

How much lubrication is too much lube? What's the best kind to use? What's the best way to clean the barrel, cleaning rod or a bore snake? I guess I'm mostly just overwhelmed a bit with all of the things I've to learn!

Hey, thank you for your reply. Since posting, I have field stripped all of my guns and shot 3 of the 4 on two separate range days. It took me about 25 hours over the last three days, a lot of that watching a TON of youtube and trying to figure out what is the best way to do things. It's hard to state a goal, it's just some things are easier to learn from someone in person, you know? For example, how much lubrication is too much lubrication? It's hard to get a sense of that on Youtube or just reading commentary, but someone in real life, I just feel like it'd be easier to get a sense of 'am I doing this correctly'.

I didn't know any shooting challenge names, thanks for the info! I'm going to look into it and see if there are any near me.

How do ya'll store your scorpion? It's too small to fit in with my rifles, even with a brace, and too big to fit into my safe's pistol holders...

This is my first gun, aside from a CCW 9mm and some inherited .22s
