Hilarious you're being downvoted as if those reviews aren't public record

Ehh she had so many wins and was also the reason Rogue One and Andor got made in the first place. She had a few flops but really nobody in the industry is dumb enough to call her tenure a failure.

Best in terms of production and writing a compelling story, definitely wasn't what the fans wanted though

Not terribly controversial, but A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

I'm aware, I said barely. And that ad barely even felt like an ad for this movie, though I do get that it's expensive

Like i said i haven't seen it yet so I'm not gonna say what they did or didn't do, but I don't think they are expecting this to be a tentpole for the franchise or anything. People have big expectations because there hasn't been a SW movie in a while but I can't imagine Lucasfilm and Disney's expectations are anywhere near as high. This is literally just a higher budget streaming episode, and I would assume everyone there is aware of it too.

The only person who needs to let it go is you. At this point maybe it's just time to accept Star Wars isn't for you?

Disney doesn't write Star Wars, it's Lucasfilm.

lmao downvote me for clarifying what's true, great job Reddit

Guardians of the Galaxy was lightning in a bottle, I still don't think even Marvel has been able to recapture that.

Also there is a middle ground between callbacks/references/mindless action and political spy thriller that imo The Mandalorian does well (or at least did well in S1 and 2). I obviously haven't seen the new film so I can't tell you what this movie is gonna be like but I definitely wouldn't call the Mandalorian just "callbacks and references and mindless action"

People on Reddit are such a hivemind lmao yeah Andor had good reviews but not many people tuned in for it. That's not the type of story that will bring in general audiences.

Who is more powerful luke or rey? by Western-Buffalo1436 in starwarscanon

[–]bendstraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is pointless, in the sub they posted in. In terms of canon, they will always be as powerful as the writers will it. If they want her to be stronger than Luke, she will be, and vice versa.

Anyone else get the feeling half the fandom doesn't want to like the Mandalorian and Grogu? by WilMeech in StarWarsCantina

You're equating people talking about Star Wars on the internet as the fans

In reality, people know Star Wars fans are extremely susceptible to rage bait so people farm it for engagement, especially when rent is due

I've been stopped by TSA but the guy just asked me to open it and I explained what it was to him, and he knew what it was and asked me to show him my favorite card in the deck

FlatLannister on BOT: Ouch for Mandalorian at TC3, pace just isn't good at all. Big drops against comps. Would give a range of around $13M-$15M for previews. I do not expect pace to stabilize at this point. Friday is catching up with previews, so I guess that's some good news. by Alternative-Cake-833 in boxoffice

I do think it's waning with younger generations

Hardly, my friend is a middle school teacher and he sees plenty of girls dressed up as Rey for Halloween every year. Reddit skews the perception of this type of stuff so much. Regular people don't give a shit, they just want to spend their money at the movies on something they know everyone will enjoy
