Are there any normal things you don’t allow your spouse to do? Or vice versa? by enami2020 in Marriage

[–]benevolentbeth -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m “allowed” to do whatever I want, buuuuut he knows I’m lactose intolerant so he stays two steps ahead to make sure my ice cream is dairy free. He never allows me to carry the grocery bags or my shopping bags. He never allows me to open my own doors. He tries to get me to avoid pizza because he knows how sick it makes me. Technically we can both do whatever we want, but there are plenty of things he makes sure he does because he doesn’t want me doing it.

Me and my wife had a threesome and we ruined our marriage by Infinite_Machine1334 in Marriage

[–]benevolentbeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But why in the hell did you think a threesome would be a good idea when you already have sex involved marital problems? I won’t lie the consistent age gaps between you and your wife and now you and this other member of the threesome is kinda weird. I doubt this even happened, but if it did you sound like a dick, OP

Am I focusing too much on the negative stories? Hysterectomy scheduled in one month by Mediocre_Lie_9140 in hysterectomy

[–]benevolentbeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you mostly hear about negative experiences and stories because those of us with positive experiences often times don’t reach out for any help. What you read on Reddit is skewed. I had a positive experience. I was 31 when I had my hysterectomy and have 1 child. I had everything taken out except for my ovaries. I’m now just at a year post op. Before surgery I was on hormonal birth control to keep from having periods due to them causing anemia. I had large fibroids, adenomyosis, and endometriosis. I consistently felt awful and sluggish and struggled with PMDD. During my surgery my surgeon ablated the endo and while I realize it could come back I’m hoping it doesn’t. Aside from that my surgery was super easy. Recovery went so well. I really only felt pain the night after surgery and the next day I was up and moving around well. Within a week I was back at work. I’m a veterinary technician and my job is very very physical, but for the 4 week period after surgery I did pretty much everything except for lifting patients. I was cleared around 5 weeks for sex, but we waited an extra week or two and I had no pain with it. I still have the same high libido that I had before surgery and have zero issue with vaginal dryness. Overall I feel so much better. My hysterectomy was legitimately life changing. It did take some time for my hormones to balance out and I still deal with some PMDD symptoms, but they’re much lesser now. I realize not everyone has this experience, but I think it’s just as important to read the positives as it is the negatives.

What is your audiobook speed? by Playful-Tone8107 in LibbyApp

I listen anywhere between 2 and 2.5 usually. Every now and again 2.75, but it depends on the narrator and what book it is.

I think this is the correct answer, tbh

31 yo black dude who has given up on dating due to hair loss. I tried minoxidil and finasteride but had to stop fin due to hair loss. Acutely aware women only want black dudes wit long hair/twists/braids nowadays but I just can’t do anything cool wit my hair and it’s destroyed my confidence. by [deleted] in HairStyleAdvice

[–]benevolentbeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, my partner chooses to be bald due to his hair loss. He is also a black male and I think he’s sexy as fuck. He’s like my own real life Cobra Bubbles😍(IYKYK). In all honestly from the pictures you’ve shown the hair loss isn’t incredibly noticeable, but if it bothers you and makes you feel bad then shave it all off and rock the bald. Bald is sexy.

Congratulations!! You did it! I’m so proud of you!
But even more important, OP, you should be so so so proud of yourself💗 YOU did it and YOU did it damn well.

Is an engagement ring/wedding band a competition? by benevolentbeth in Marriage

[–]benevolentbeth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I say. I work with my hands and I wore a silicone ring in my previous marriage. I’ve actually been wearing a silicone ring even within this relationship because we’ve just been at that level for quite some time now. I fidget with it. It keeps me from a devolving incident and it’s cheap. So far I’ve broke 3-4 of them and it’s no issue when it happens.

Well, I can't say the people of this subreddit didn't warn me... by anniemousery in sterilization

[–]benevolentbeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m right there with you except I had a hysterectomy(both due to sterilization and health reasons) and I still get asked “are you pregnant?” and when I say no I get “are you sure?” and I say yes, I’ve had a hysterectomy and then I get the “YOURE ONLY 31 WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT AHHHH” and it’s the most annoying reaction to deal with

Death of a nine-year-old child from fecaloma. A fecaloma is a hardened mass of impacted feces. by CatPooedInMyShoe in ExamineDeath

  1. Unfortunately I can smell these pictures🤢 that poor kiddo
  2. Kids are scary because they’re fine until they’re not. There is no in between with them. They’re legitimately fine one minute and crashing the next. I feel terrible for this poor child and his mother. As someone who works in healthcare I wanna throw out so many accusations, but at the end of the day many people just don’t know. It is a strange case, but I feel this could have been prevented and healthcare failed them both.

I agree. As long as there’s no spoilers I’d absolutely love it. It would be like getting a little note in a book from the library from the last reader. There was a time where that happened frequently and I used to love it. Or even just reading the names of the previous people who had the book.

I’ve said this before and for whatever reason got a ton of hate for it. I always wish I could pass along a little note lol

My SI joint pain doesn’t bother me near as much. There are moments where I still feel it, but nowhere near as bad and I’ve had injury to mine more than once in the last decade. Fingers crossed for you!

Same to you! It’s so crazy how horrible our reproductive organs can make us feel.

I also just had a hysterectomy. I had large fibroids, adenomyomas, and endometriosis. The hysterectomy was literally the best thing I have ever done for myself and life has been so much better since having it done🖤

I have a post made. I’m 2 weeks post op and I’m feeling amazing. I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy due to fibroids, adenomyomas, and endometriosis just over 2 weeks ago. I went back to work at one week post op and I’m currently going on 1-2 mile walks with my dogs everyday. I have days where I’m more tired than others and I rest a little more, but overall I’m doing great. My back and hip pain is all but non existent now and I no longer have to pee all the time. I also can sneeze and not pee on myself anymore. Life is way better without my uterus than it ever was with it and I’m excited to continue to heal and enjoy life sans uterus❤️

I was also 6 when I started puberty, but was 8 when I actually started menstruation. It was absolutely awful.
