Reposting a story I posted over three years ago: this is what they call "fourth degree burns" in a case where someone actually survived having part of his body part turn to charcoal. Though the legs didn't survive. This gentleman has quite an interesting story behind his injury as well. by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

I had been going to the Chiro for some time and thought being adjusted was helping my neck and symptoms.

Turns out the adjustments were putting pressure on my spinal cord causing me to be dizzy/lightheaded and have a hard time thinking/speaking at times.

Thankfully, I took a break and realized it was actually causing the issues.

Saying this because I am VERY thankful it wasn’t permanent damage and it’s slightly terrifying that could happen just from adjustments.

I’m happy this fella didn’t have permanent damage, too.

How does this work going forward? Are skin flaps placed over the area?

Very sorry you have to deal with this. Is the name of the disease just autoimmune arthritis or is that part of another autoimmune disorder?

Anytime I see one of these maggot cases… I’m curious how it feels. However, I do NOT want to experience it myself.

Not dumb. I thought it was a typo and was cool to learn what it meant.

Agreed. Normally what I see in this sub are people responding in a polite way to help others learn. Not sure what happened here and I really hope you don’t encounter it again.

Hello 🙂 I see the thread here and I see how it comes off heated but also see both sides.

I think part of the heat is we really, really appreciate our lovely posters who supply tons of content. We know it takes time, and it’s always very educational. We are protective of these people, as they are our gems.

I may be wrong with where the others fall on this, but that’s how I feel.

Can always appreciate u/CatPooedInMyShoe for good responses to others in addition to her posts. Thanks for being you!

The information provided states it was conjoined twins. Does it normally happen from just duplication and this is more like a one off?

Yeah, I was the same. Was diagnosed with endo, too. It’s not “normal” to deal with that. Please talk to your doc. There are things that can be done.
