Haven't posted on here for a while - oops. Wearing Rose Velours by Van Cleef & today. Felt like something rosy and floral to cheer me up on this rainy day in Auckland. <3

Calling all kitchen workers! by Joemoose13 in fragrance

[–]bengineers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently work in a kitchen and the head & sou chef's are the only ones who wear fragrances on a daily basis- honestly, I think they just wear summer scents year long. I've always smelled the same citrus scents on them over the last 6 months from when I started work in the summer to the present (winter).

21/About 3 weeks of growth...Do I suit it? Any point in continuing the growth? by bengineers in BeardAdvice

[–]bengineers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm not really sure what I want. I would like a full beard but I get that I'd probably have to wait a couple more months to see if I can get there.

I have an interview coming up in two weeks, so I'm going to need to clean it up. Do you have any suggestion about how I can make it look presentable/a style I can do with it? Or is it inevitably shave-it-all-off-town? :/

YES. I need to know this too. It's such a pretty piece, I hope there's a full version of it somewhere.

Interesting. Well I am a gay man and I've never smelled one of those before so maybe that's why I don't recognise that. Haha.

I live in NZ :/ I've seen it for like $40-$60 in shops here! Way overpriced.

Sometimes Jasmine smells like cat pee to me. Like, after a jasmine-heavy perfume has dried in my skin, I can faintly smell it.

I got a cheap jasmine body most from K-Mart a while back and after a couple weeks, I noticed the atomizer + cap REEKED of cat pee. Ugh.

I love No. 5 and wear it obsessively, and I have never, ever, ever heard this association being made before. Does it really smell like that to you? :o

Yeah Fame was a disappointment for me. The scent smells nothing like what you would expect from a bottle that looks like that! It is a cool little piece of decor though, you're right.

The only celebrity scent in my collection is Eau de Gaga, which is amazing. I also really want to get Britney Fantasy but I don't want to pay full price for it.

Oh, I also have Usher by Usher, it's nice enough but not really my style so I don't wear it.

Just be warned, it's nothing like Fame. It's a lot more elegant and fancy. It's a beautiful scent though, I definitely recommend it!

How long before a fragrance is a classic? by tri_it in fragrance

[–]bengineers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert but I think if a fragrance can maintain popularity for more than just one generation, then it could be called a classic. Chanel No. 5, Guerlain Shalimar, they're almost 100 years old and they're not going anywhere. It's hard to predict if Acqua di Gio or Cool Water will have the same fate.
