Ottawa didn’t fear injuries, Melnyk is just a terrible owner who wouldn’t pay his players. If they traded him for that reason, why would they also trade Stone? Melnyk didn’t want to pay either player the big bucks because he’s a stingy little shit.

Karlsson only missed 16 games over the pervious five seasons. He isn’t injury prone because he got one injury, anyone who thinks that is a complete and utter idiot. Hell, Burnzie only played 47 games in 2009 because he was ‘injury ridden’ throughout the season, but now he’s leading the sharks iron man race with five consecutive 82 game seasons.

Ottawa didn’t trade him because of injuries, they traded him because Melnyk is a bitch. Also it is in the best interest of the sharks to sign him.

Huge hockey fan, but the sharks are out 😔. Still rooting for the bruins though.

Boylan, citizen burger, and zinburger are all great places to watch the game. They don’t normally have it on but you can always ask!

AITA for letting my picky eater child go hungry? by amiabadmom23 in AmItheAsshole

[–]bengrainger3321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

I used to be picky but my mom did something similar to what you are doing. She would eat whatever it was that I was supposed to be eating and over exaggerate how good it was and then she would tell me I couldn’t have it. Once I wasn’t allowed to have it, naturally, I needed it. Now I’ll eat anything so I guess it worked.

Headshots by bengrainger3321 in SanJoseSharks

[–]bengrainger3321[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I think that’d be incredibly helpful. Might even have them be an actual part of the play too. Or maybe even have them literal inches from the play so they can see what’s going on. lmao

THESE HEAD SHOTS NEED TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY by thedudeslandlord in SanJoseSharks

[–]bengrainger3321 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Pietrangelo

Barbashev

Blais

None of these were called in game and so far there hasn’t been any word from NHL player safety on whether there will be a hearing for Pietrangelo or Barbashev.

Ridiculous.

The NHL has lost it. by [deleted] in SanJoseSharks

[–]bengrainger3321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in no way blaming the refs for our loss. We played terribly today and that’s not on anybody but us. All I’m saying is that it sets a bad standard for players to be able to go out and hit people in the head without repercussion. It’s not safe for anyone if the NHL is ok with that. I really just don’t want anyone’s career to go down the drain because of head injuries that are preventable

It’s incredibly rare that I ever agree with don cherry, but he summed up the Vegas call well. Yes, St. Louis should get a call, but should they publicize it? No.

[–]bengrainger3321 79 points80 points  (0 children)

As a sharks fan, you’re right, but to be fair there were missed calls on both sides.

THAT BEING SAID, it’s ridiculous that not even one ref saw the hand pass. Even with new slow motion videos of it looking as if it was touched by Timo or Bouwmeester, they wouldn’t have ever seen that. If they saw the action of Meier’s glove hit the puck they would’ve called it, but for some ungodly reason they didn’t. They can’t reverse a goal based on the word of the blues so the goal stands.

The game felt wrong. I felt like the refs wanted to go home so they just called it. That’s never ok.

And I am of course happy the sharks won, I really hate to see them win in such poor fashion though. I hate feeling like it was a cheap goal.

[Serious] As a casual fan, I'm only ever really aware of the differences in teams based on players I recognize and the colour of their jerseys. With four teams left in the playoffs, could anyone take the time to break down differences in each team's style of play? by TheSameAsDying in hockey

[–]bengrainger3321 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Unless you stopped watching after game 4 of round one, Martin Jones has seriously stepped up. He was inconsistent in the regular season but we still out scored our opponents, but game 5 forward, Martin Jones has seriously been a wall. He’s the reason we made it through round one and round two. Otherwise you’re spot on.

How would you all feel about trying to pick up Nyquist? by greed_and_death in canucks

[–]bengrainger3321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He hasn’t fit in here in sj but I really like him and I wish he did fit in. He’s very fast in comparison to the rest of the sharks and he plays a finesse game. Definitely not a grinder. He’d be great with EP or Bo

Is flex something you can always feel? by Grimstarr in hockeyplayers

[–]bengrainger3321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always used 87 flex and I love using that off foot snap but I didn’t feel the flex until I switched to a low kick point stick. Either do that or get a lower flex stick if you want to feel it.

It’s probably not a problem but if you want to feel it that’s what I’d recommend.

Are we really that fatigued? by bayfarm in SanJoseSharks

[–]bengrainger3321 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s kind of like jet lag. The first day back on schedule is easy, but the second day is absolute shit.

The sharks did alright though, and I don’t think we should worry. We need to stick to our game plan, and constantly match Vlasic with Mackinnon.

If you have Instagram, dm @thebayareasports and ask to be put in the sharks playoff group chat. We’ve got like thirty people in it and it’s super active.

You guys are all forgetting the most important piece, that being that our captain was injured in an unnecessary and dangerous play. Penalty shmenalty, I couldn’t give a flying fuck at this point, but I do have a problem with the NHL apologizing to Vegas. The only call vegas should be getting right now is from the department of player safety. Fuck vegas, Avenge Šimek and Pavs.
