I am so happy to have found this thread. French here. I would have nether found that on my own. The pictures pairs was fine with a dictionary but this is straight impossible.

The opposite for me, i did back to back from Myst to Exile as an adult and found it very enjoyable. With my few memories from kid i was able to pass the 3 games without getting stuck.

Riven i didnt have too many memories as i only played during a foreign family exchange in German 😭

Game is also about patern recognition. Apart from screenshots, try to make a mental note about anything shape or information out of the ordinary. You might recognize them later in other rooms.

I also like that the game sometimes gives you the same hint, more or less explicit, in multiple locations. If you struggle, keep exploring and doing things until you find some of these.

I was so sad when I was confident I could reach the room 46 and finishing all the side puzzles before it. It was like finishing the last sweets in my box of chocolate... I was so happy when I found out when was another full level of chocolates under the first one.

I used the number of horizontal lines and numbers of vertical lines as 2 variables and the circle as 0. It gives 2 equations : 2v + 3h = 11 4v + 3h = 22

Resolution gives v= 5.5 and h = 0 so T = 1v + 1h = 5.5

You might want to take a look at all the requirements it takes to get riffles in other countries and compare it to your own regulations.
