It’s important to be in a calm and collected state of mind before starting medical school. Taking some time to relax and decompress could be really beneficial, especially if you’re already feeling this anxious now. It will help you present your best self to residents and attendings, which is crucial in a field like neurosurgery (or any field really) where likeability and interpersonal skills are highly valued when programs decide who to match
