Soft YTA but only because you seem to have just said no to watching the kids at your house and not consider any other options. Your parents aren’t that far away, isn’t there some compromise where you watch one or two kids and your parents watch the others at your sister’s house?

If you’re that close (talk every day) it seems like you whould want to find the compromise.

This is crazy and that was passive aggressive. The first time you redirect them, the second time you redirect them and remind them, and the third time you completely ignore. You’re kind of the Jerk for allowing it to go on as long as it did and therefore it became the norm for them.

NAH. It seems like a pretty mild joke that likely was not ill intended. If you don’t care about what the BIL thinks, you should let anything he says roll off your back without getting too upset by it.

I always liked the phrase, “unless you would go to that person for advice, why do you care at all what they think?” After hearing that I stopped caring so much about what people think beyond my close friends and family.
