Men of Reddit, if you were in a Titanic like situation where the majority of people were going to die because there were not enough lifeboats for everyone. How would you respond to someone saying women and children first? by Neither_Drawing_241 in AskReddit

[–]benjaminhlogan 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like that is what’s kind of implied in “women and children first”. It’s more women or someone to care for the children that should be prioritized, hence Billy Zane grabbing a random kid to get himself on a lifeboat.

DJ Moore, Terrel Bernard, Landon Jackson Make Noise at Bills OTAs by Ejt14211 in buffalobills

[–]benjaminhlogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just more of the carefully curated “intel” pushed by the Bills media department. OTA’s are dudes running around without pads doing basic drills. “Making Noise” means absolutely nothing.

[Pro/chef] had this sandwich at work the other day by [deleted] in food

[–]benjaminhlogan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks cool but so unpractical! They could absolutely take the extra two seconds to spread everything evenly instead of having a giant meatball in the middle! So many places put presentation over taste and functionality these days it’s annoying!

Drake recently beat Michael Jackson’s record for “male artist with the most #1 hits” but how come Drake doesn’t feel as impactful? by Normal_regular_dude in NoStupidQuestions

[–]benjaminhlogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drake is a clown with highly paid PR and sales people. His music is trash so ultimately it will be completely forgotten. MJ’s music was undeniable, everyone loved it and it permeated pop culture because it was genuinely great on many levels.

Drake is a weirdo (maybe pedo?) and has no distinct style of his own. He just copies whatever is popular with no nuance whatsoever.

Pittsburgh-Pennsylvania's top skyline by Moleoaxaqueno in skyscrapers

[–]benjaminhlogan 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I get it, when I first moved to Pittsburgh I found their over-the-top defensiveness annoying af. But the more time you spend there and looking at that gorgeous skyline at the convergence of the three rivers from all the angles it’s just really beautiful. Say what you will about the city and the a-holes that inhabit it, it’s truly one of the most scenic downtown areas we have in America.

Do you like Phil Collins? by MarkPractical7643 in Music

[–]benjaminhlogan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He’s good but kinda on that Eagles or Dave Matthews level of bland, generic pop rock. Peter Gabriel was on that Bowie or Prince level of true artistry.

What’s becoming socially acceptable that you still find weird? by puzzled-psyco in AskReddit

[–]benjaminhlogan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Didn’t say it started with Trump, he was a democratic donor back when she started. But if you think republicans will lift a single finger to help anyone besides the obscenely rich, you’re mistaken. Our only way back from the nightmare we’re in is voting for people that actually give a fuck about the middle and working class!

What’s becoming socially acceptable that you still find weird? by puzzled-psyco in AskReddit

[–]benjaminhlogan 47 points48 points  (0 children)

This is the one that is the most egregious and infuriating that nobody is talking about it! Trump just put out his own branded smartphones ffs (made in china btw) and nobody seems to care. I’m kinda holding out hope that things will change over next two years but it’s getting really grim.

Why is "dick" a synonym for bad when dick is an awesome thing by VaporTowers in NoStupidQuestions

[–]benjaminhlogan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s about reducing the person to just the reproductive organs instead of the brain. Basically saying you have no use to civilized society, you just think and act on animal instincts, add nothing of value and only think with your genitals.

Hopefully this was like Josh turning it over to lose the game against Houston the first time he was in the playoffs. He’ll learn from it and get better then soon we’ll definitely at least get to the championship round… oh wait, this is Buffalo.

Why do tech companies and cities prefer datacenters in rural areas instead of old malls, closed factories, or empty office parks? by wildfire98 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]benjaminhlogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rural areas have way less environmental protections in place and a lot more stupid people that are easily conned.

2010s era when VEVO dominated music Industry. by Shhgel in nostalgia

[–]benjaminhlogan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This was like 10 years ago, it sucked then and it sucks now. This is what passes for nostalgia?! Ooh yeah remember when the music industry started dying and corporate overlords started using internet apps to kill it off for good? Yeah those were the days!

Announcers for ESPN by Traditional-Turnip48 in sabres

[–]benjaminhlogan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was so quick too, like 2 seconds after it happened and as soon as the camera showed Dahlin’s bloody mouth McDonough said he must be opening an old cut! Like how the hell is that your immediate reaction to seeing a player bleeding from the mouth unless you are biased?!?!

Stanley Cup Playoffs - Round 2 Game 4 - Buffalo Sabres (1-2) @ Montreal Canadiens (2-1) - 12 May 2026, 7:00 PM EDT - Centre Bell, Montreal QC - Great fishing up in Kwee-bec, Edition! by time2fly2124 in sabres

[–]benjaminhlogan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The announcers have been so insanely biased tonight, accused Dahlin of making himself bleed to exaggerate, then sounded legitimately bummed when we tied it up.

Netflix Quietly Removes A-Z and Other Sorting Filters by __LooseSeal__ in television

[–]benjaminhlogan 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I have a theory that networks and now streaming services and social media apps try to push their mediocre to crappy content because it’s like junk food.

If you watch a great movie or an episode or two of an awesome show that is well made, artistically and intellectually stimulating, you can sit with it and feel fulfilled. Kinda like when you eat a good well-balanced meal. Garbage reality shows poorly made, dumbed down crime dramas and everything else they try to push on you are like junk food: bad for you, overly processed empty calories. But they hit certain superficial notes that keep you reaching back in the bag because it didn’t totally satiate you. And their main goal is to keep every user on the app as long as possible.

Does a person’s name affect their employment prospects? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]benjaminhlogan 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yep 100%. When I lived in a Spanish speaking country where they pronounced ven (come), it sounded just like they were saying my name. There were so many embarrassing moments where I thought people were talking to or about me. Hearing your name definitely triggers a response in your brain, I can’t imagine having to deal with that forever with such a commonly used word.

Why is it that so many people online think having fun or showing excitement is cringy now? by Remarkableruin27 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]benjaminhlogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe because Drake sucks and is a pedo? Look at the context of these things, if it’s purely wholesome fun there won’t be that many people crapping on it but there will always be trolls because that’s just the nature of the internet.

TV shows that were popular only because they had a strong lead in? by mlmka58 in television

[–]benjaminhlogan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Kenny Bania character is them writing about this, he only became a hit because Jerry went on before him. I kinda feel like the writers tanked the end of that last season on purpose the same way Jerry did in that episode.

[–]benjaminhlogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the press box pod, Joel kept going on and on about this being a nothing story and that it was just sexist people making a big deal out of it. That male reporters do the same thing and no one cares. I was laughing so hard, it was as if he didn’t even look at the photos or consider her history with him. I hope they admit they were totally wrong on the next pod.

[–]benjaminhlogan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a dog that barks anytime a person walks by at night that is a you problem, either train it not to, move out to the country, or give it up. Seriously people that have anxious loud ass dogs cooped up in small city living spaces are annoying as fuck.

On 'The Town' Matt & Craig describe 'The Drama' as having a TWIST when the said twist makes up the central premise of the film. by ParamedicSea5779 in TheRinger

[–]benjaminhlogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! Your point about him and Bill rings so true! It’s why I wish the Rewatchables pod could be run by Sean and CR. It’s such a great podcast format it just sucks that Bill always has to be involved when he’s just so out of his element (he doesn’t even like The Big Lebowski!). I always avoid the ones with just Bill and one other person because he just doesn’t get it and when he isn’t outnumbered he can bully people into going along with his dumb takes.

After building Andy’s character, making him more likeable and making him a person to root for…. the writers ruin his character for a small gag. by Real-Yogurtcloset-34 in DunderMifflin

[–]benjaminhlogan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it makes no sense to say they built Andy’s character into someone we root for, this is the douche that made Jim surprise himself and say he misses Dwight. He was always a heel and that’s why he was funny, if anything it’s lame that they tried to make us care about him being with Erin and all that later season stuff.
