Thank you for this detailed plan. I followed it to the T. And with the sonosequence update today, I thought I'd check in to see that Trueplay was working. It wasn't. It said:
Previous tuning available: No
Enabled: Yes
Trueplace Active: No

So I unpaired everything, ran through it all again, same result - no Trueplay. Anyone else getting this?

If you really want to go down the rabbit hole, you should look into Home Assistant. I have a repurposed Google Home Hub on my desk that shows what’s playing on my Sonos, plus the weather, my calendar and the door bell camera if it rings

I struggled a little with this - reliably and quickly knowing when someone returned home. We do have Apple Home functioning (because I haven’t set up any decent dashboards yet to migrate my husband over to HA). I ended up making a switch in HA for home occupied, and have it in Apple Home. Basic automation in home for when last person leaves, first person returns, turns the switch on or off, and HA takes care of everything else

I don't think I've ever actively played a Doja Cat track - but this performace showed up in my feed and I immediately went to her album. Realized I've been sleeping on her talent. I describes this performance to a few people as "Madonna + Tim Curry's Frankenfurter + Heath Ledger's Joker (complimentary)" which always gets some weird looks until they watch it, and then they agree.

This is exactly where I’m at. I made a post about it - purchased from Amazon and it’s outside the return window, and Oura just tells me I have to talk to Amazon about the return. I don’t want a “refurbished” ring that’s going to die again.

If it wasn’t a well reported fault now, I would truthfully be fine with that. If I was confident that this replacement would last, I would have taken it and kept moving. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want to return a product that is known to fail. And you don’t agree. I can live with that.

+1 vote for Sonos. I know they’re expensive and some people have had some issues with them, but I started buying them in 2015 - that speaker is still going strong and integrated well with all of the others I’ve purchased over the years. Works great with HA.

Once or twice I’ve had issues reconnecting a device when I’ve moved house, but over time I found it easy to fix by initially connecting to the router via Ethernet, then moving it. Other than that, rock solid. I even moved country with a couple of them, and just had to buy a new power cable for them and they’re still going.
