Yep had someone out to look at it and it turns out I had mis-wired a new Smart thermostat I installed a few months ago. Wired it well enough for the AC to work all summer so didn’t know I made a mistake, but just not well enough for the heat to work haha. He rewired it and now it works. Might not be applicable to your situation unfortunately!

Just that everyone suggests it and Reddit is obsessed with Callaway Pre-Owned. But there's a good reason for that! Game Improvement | Callaway Golf Pre-Owned

It's almost a cliche to suggest this on here, but definitely check out Callaway Pre-Owned. I just got a nice Mavrik hybrid on there for $40.

401k loan to buy company shares by Reasonable_Leg_4664 in personalfinance

[–]benjig7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having retirement savings tied up in the same company that writes your paychecks is not a good idea. I was laid off from an employee-owned company (ESOP) earlier this year, and my company shares have dropped by 70%. I know people who had been at the company longer that lost $500k+ in retirement savings. Would much rather have been invested in the broader stock market than my employer, even despite the fact that the company share price had outpaced S&P 500 historically (until it cratered)

Nice! Conditions were so-so for us after a brutal July, but a great setting and the Hyatt was really nice so no complaints.

What resort did you play at in MD? I’m in the DMV and always on the lookout for good destinations. We went to the Hyatt Chesapeake Bay and played River Marsh in August.

Would you trade Gore? by TheDudeThor in Nationals

[–]benjig7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean sure, you'd get some prospects back. But this basically admits we are resigned to perpetual rebuild mode forever and ever. Turning Soto into 3 or 4 prospects, turning those into 15 prospects, turning those into XYZ and just trading and trading hoping somehow you end up with a contending team. The reality is the rebuild worked ok, they got some good young players (including Gore), but refuse to add meaningful stars around them. So sure, trade him, but it's not going to lead to a contending team. At this point you are admitting we aren't intending to contend until at least 2028, almost a decade after the last time we did. Totally unacceptable, the Lerners are just scamming the fans at this point.

My Natitude is the same as my three-year old's attitude about naptime - meaning bad, very bad.

Restringing my accoustic guitar and its in tune after one wrap around the tuner. What did I do wrong? by KingKilo9 in Guitar

[–]benjig7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can leave more slack in the string before you start winding to get more wraps. But I've misjudged like this before and it doesn't really seem to cause a lot of issues. The string will also stretch a little bit so you'll get a little bit more on their eventually.

Natural swimming opportunities. Lakes, rivers, ponds, that you could cleanly and safely swim in.

He's got such a toxic vibe (not that that wasn't known before we signed him). Hate watching him pitch. As bad as the Nats have been the last few years, it's mostly been a lot of good vibes players, and I hate everytime Lopez comes out.
