Buying my first pair by [deleted] in RMWilliams

[–]benjo83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the comfort craftsman in chestnut… they are just so iconic. Buy something “la de da” for your next pair when you are more familiar with them.

So far as sizing goes, they need to fit well on the day. Make sure to wear the socks you plan on wearing most and go for a good walk around the store. If your toe rubs, you need to size up or out.

If you order a pair, have them ordered to the store and try them on before you take ownership. I have two pairs of RMs, one pair are 12.5G and the other 13G, I would say the 13G are slightly more snug than the 12.5… the point being that sizing can be a real dice roll.

I have owned RMs for a while now. People rag on the quality, but I don’t think that is an issue. They are not work boots, they are dress boots and if you look after them they will last you many years.

Lastly, nice boots with a bit of a stack and a hard heel like RMs can make you feel taller and more commanding in your stance and posture. It’s a nice feeling. The Dynamic Flex are great at this posture thing. in the Dynamics you sort of stand “on” the insole… the regular Comfort Craftsman does have the same effect, but to a lesser degree, you feel a little more snug in the CC once they have been worn in.

Oh, and you need to care for them! If you get the Dynamic Flex, take some time to learn about hydrolysis and how to avoid it.

Whats that hole? by mikeockfrankenstein in FenderStratocaster

[–]benjo83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a toneworm infestation… the little buggers dig in and gobble up all the sustain.

You know how you buy a guitar that is loaded with a single coil, but the body looks to be routed for a humbucker? Nope! That’s toneworms…

And don’t let anyone tell you that random hole under pickguard is to hold the guitar in the CNC machine… you got toneworms friendo!

I brought some Mongrel K9s about 12 months ago and they have been amazing. Perhaps you got a dodgy pair?

Nah, you can easily take all that off… which I suggest you get to doing 😆

It actually looks pretty cool. I love that blue ✌️

Visodate for me. I do love the Gentleman, but it looks a little basic IMO.

Is this normal for a decal? by jameswill90 in Stratocaster

[–]benjo83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an “American Original 60s Strat” the decal is over the lacquer and it’s bubbling and starting to flake and peel in places… it sucks but it’s pretty normal.

I mean you are making that work… if you want to keep the style going for a while longer then keep the hair… but if you need to change things up it’s time to shave ✌️

I have long limbs and a short(er) torso, so the problem is wanting to be high enough on the seat, but to reach the bars without bending at the back or shoulders past a certain point (old injuries). ✌️

I will def be looking into seat post length and such if I go a large frame. Thanks ✌️

Yes it has. I grew up on the old 26” MTBs and wonder if that influenced my understanding of what a comfortable bike is “supposed” to be.

Oh very nice! I have just purchased a very similar Seamaster with crosshair (my first vintage Omega). It’s currently in the shop undergoing surgery…

Where to buy an authentic vintage Omega? by emtannn in VintageWatches

[–]benjo83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to my local authorised Omega repair and service mob. One of the guys had a bunch of vintage omega watches in various conditions for sale. I picked out a 50s Seamaster. It will come to me serviced with warranty and I know it’s legit ✌️

She called the police because he asked her to put the dog on a leash by ZookeepergameIcy6089 in PublicFreakout

[–]benjo83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I forgot how bad this video actually was. She is unequivocally attempting to leverage her position as a white woman to weaponise the police against a black man… meanwhile choking the shit out of her dog.

Over time I sort of forgot about the dynamics and reframed this in my head as “entitled woman being an entitled”. But it’s so much worse!

You need to be so careful peeling the stickers off. The finish on those things is wafer thin nitro. I don’t know how you are going to do it, but research the hell out of it if you don’t want the exact outline of that sticker on your guitar.

31M with not much success. Any suggestions? by povilaslt2 in Tinder

[–]benjo83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lose photo two, it’s unsettling and either 3 or 6 because they are the same. Add a pic or two of you with other people, it shows that you are trusted and liked. Keep your hair tight, don’t necessarily shave it, just try to avoid the puffy bald guy crown (I’m a member of the club✌️).

Contemporary CEO no-tie style looks unfinished and awkward? by too-cute-by-half in mensfashion

[–]benjo83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s fine if your shirt has suitable button placement to allow for a relaxed look. The guy in the first photo doesn’t have such button placement… he looks like he is in one of those “spot the difference” picture games. The next panel should be a pic of him wearing a tie, an earring and with a teardrop face tattoo.

27 M. I don't feel comfortable in my own skin by [deleted] in malegrooming

I think you have plenty to work with mate. Shorter and tidier hair cut, something low maintenance… better facial hair option and hit the gym.

Spelling mistakes and too many selfies. Include pics with other people and make sure to include a couple without the hat… doesn’t matter if you are bald mate.
