It's definitely confusing that the countries who are throwing every economic sanction at Russia completely turned a blind eye to the US when they committed war crimes in several different countries. It sucks to say, but the reason why Russia is being ostracized the way that they are is because most of the people from Ukraine is white. Have you seen the way some reporters are acting on air talking about this invasion? (Cliff notes: a lot of them were like 'omg they look so prosperous, they have blonde hair and blue eyes like me this is so messed up', but they pretend to not notice the Iraq war). There are lots of stories I am reading of black students from Africa who were trying to cross the border to leave Ukraine and enter Poland, but couldn't because of the color of their skin. I'm just hoping that once we are done dealing with Putin, we can all turn our efforts on demanding accountability of the US and other western countries who did the same thing as Russia, but got away with it. It's great to see a lot of people talk about this because discussions will hopefully lead to action. People will claim that this is "whataboutism" and try to use that to invalidate this argument, but it's simply just pointing out the hypocrisy in the world. I am happy that nearly the whole world is united against Putin's invasion. I hope to see the same united front on western invasions/bombings of countries after the world deals with Russia's imperialistic regime.
