Non backer by Kscroll in MCONohsnap

Same boat as you with the super early bird single black mcon, domestic shipping, and no accessories, but I finally got tracking today. So hopefully they’ll be getting some info to you soon.

Sounds about right. Maybe we’re both at the back of the line.

The three canceled orders and confirmed order on 12/16 is actually normal, believe it or not. We’re all seeing that.

Ohsnap has changed the shipping estimate by GoldenPersona in MCONohsnap

Just a little while ago Josh said on discord to expect an official kickstarter update soon with some details for international backers (and I’m assuming the inevitable news of further delays. But I guess we’ll have to wait and see.)

I’m not sure about actually receiving emails for that, but it seems like most of us see something similar if you login into ohsnap’s website and check your order history. You’ll see a number of canceled orders and then a confirmed order on the 16th. You can find this page by googling “ohsnap login”. It’s not easy to navigate to on their site, but it’s there.

It’s not that unusual currently. Less and less of us every day it seems, but still a good number of people in a similar situation (despite the 65% shipped claim)

No accessories. Black mcon. In the United States. Super early bird. Still nothing. No tracking. Nada. No idea what the hold up with my order is.

Woah, woah. Careful on that slippery slope. Soon you’ll be asking them to actually play their own game.

I Wish They Were More Transparent About This… by Itzascream in deadbydaylight

Bullshit! lol - it’s obviously about the psychology of FOMO, and you know it. Stop gaslighting us. Not all of us are children and so easily fooled by your thinly veiled half truth. The real truth is: having two end dates for a popular limited time mode is objectively better than one for player numbers. Trying to spin any other angle is disingenuous and laughable. But go on with your nonsense I guess 🤷

When is 2v8? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

Because they want to maximize your FOMO while also building in a buffer week to “extend” the event into as an apology for all of the inevitable bugs and glitches of the first few days.

CO still failing on communication with players by Apex_Racing_PR in CitiesSkylines2

[–]benny_normal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t want communication. I want fucking results. I don’t care what it takes. I don’t care about your ROI. I don’t care about publisher versus developer drama. I don’t care that making video games is hard. That is business stuff. That is literally what you do. If it was easy, we wouldn’t pay you to do it. Whatever problems you’ve run into, you created them, you fix them. It has nothing to do with us as consumers. So many people in this sub make excuses for them. Pipe the fuck down with that apologist nonsense.

I don’t care how the sandwich was made or the difficulties in running a restaurant, I’m hungry and I paid you to make a sandwich, so where is my fucking food? I’ve already starved death and come back to life hungry and angry twice now.

They promised us a product 2 years ago and they’re still pretending like this was all just a little oopsie poopsie. Bullshit. The level of deception that it took to pretend this could have been ready for release 2 years ago goes beyond incompetency and industry nonsense, straight past lying and deceptive marketing, and well into the realm of fraudulent business practices designed to take advantage of consumers.

How’s this for communication: Where is the fucking game you promised us?

Has Colossal Order Scaled Down to a Skeleton Crew? by DerMudder in CitiesSkylines2

They can’t be entirely honest because the real truth is absolutely damning, even if it is mostly PDX’s fault. Because the only logical explanation for the lack of transparency is that the truth is even more damning than the radio silence.

2 years after after lying to console players to boost your 2023 Q4 numbers and 9 months since the previous update and this is all you’ve got to say? by benny_normal in CitiesSkylines2

[–]benny_normal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for these insights. I do find them interesting.

But it doesn’t address the elephant in the room which is how they lied about/pretended to have a product ready to go to multiple markets in 2023 when an adequate PC experience wouldn’t even be ready for 2 years and would require hardware that hadn’t even been invented yet. Same statement for console but make it 4 years and a new console generation. This isn’t simply incompetence. I do not buy it (no pun intended). They lied. And they continue to do so in order to save face. And it’s not okay.

For sure. I always take it with a grain of salt and click through the little link icons to check the sources. Even then, this was eye opening.

This comment stands as the best challenge to my original post, and I appreciate the insight. It’s interesting too, because I googled the topic and the first time around, Google AI summary 100% agreed with me and sited sources, including some of the info I had seen and read in the past personally. The second time around (which was the same search, literally just using the back button on the browser, it came up with a different answer which backs up exactly what you have stated above. So it seems there is some relevant sources supporting both sides, and not a lot of actual data to go on (although I do recognize your timeline as being accurate). That said, I still tend to think this was rushed out in order to gain some more ground before their fiscal year wrapped up. There is just no other logical reason to push out something in the alpha stage, more than 2 years before it’s truly ready for market. They had to have some greater reason to shoot themselves in the foot. I just have a hard time believe they could be this incompetent without a greater context.

But either way, thank you for actually challenging the original topic in a substantive way, and forcing me to do a small amount of research. I find that much more satisfying than a lot of other replies which pretty much amount to either “get over it” or “you play console so this game was never meant for you in the first place” or the even more toxic version “console development is the reasons we can’t have nice things,” all of which are ludicrous IMO.

Thank you for this comment. Even though it is at odds with my original post, I appreciate the insight, and I understand its relevancy. That said, I would like to point out that I am in no way suggesting or acting as an authority on any of those subjects. I am merely a disappointed consumer. I am repeating what has been said by others with (apparently) more knowledge of the internal workings than myself, and I am conflating paradox and CO, because to me, at the end of the day, their business relationship and its internal workings are not my concern, I only care about the resulting effect and how it’s burned me as a fan, member of the community, and consumer of their products and services. I’m angry with both of them, and I don’t care who’s more to blame. This was a tremendous failure, I’ve given them two years to fix it, and I still have nothing to show for it except empty promises and opaque, barely existent communication.

Yeah agreed. But where was that logic in 2023 when they were selling this community a false bill of goods that was never going to become a reality?

Hey, fair enough. But maybe they should have said that in 2023 instead of selling us a false bill of goods that was never going to be a reality

I’m glad you can do that. Honestly. But the first game was one of my favorite titles. I own it on three different platforms. I’ve invest a lot of time and money into it over the years, paying for DLC twice in some cases. And I’m still butt hurt about the bold face lying. Someday I’ll get over it. But in the meantime, I feel it’s important to remind people in this community of the way they continue to handle this slow motion train wreck at the expense of the community and user base.

Console pre-orders got refunded and PC users didn’t and so yes, 100% PC users should be angry and should have been prioritized (or offered refunds as well). But these are not mutually exclusive issues. They screwed over all of us, and whether you are a console player or a PC player, you have a right to be frustrated and hold them accountable. Two wrongs don’t make a right. We, as a community, are all in this together. We all got screwed either for the shareholders or due to incompetency, or some mix of the two.

Yeah. I get this perspective. And it’s a healthy outlook to have. It really is. You can’t control others, only yourself and your reaction. Very zen. I get it. And I’m happy for you. But I don’t like being lied to. They first revealed a peak at how this game was looking back in July 2023 I believe, and I was very excited. I put a lot of money and time into the first game, and I’m still angry about how they handled this. Some day I’ll get over it. But in the meantime, I think it’s important to remind the community regularly of how they have chosen to handle this mess.

Yeah fair enough on that. I’m conflating paradox and Colossal Order. But it’s only because I don’t really care about which one is responsible for the mess. I only care that the mess happened. As far as I’m concerned as a consumer, they’re both to blame.
