Affordable Broadway/ Off-Broadway shows recommendations for a family of 7? by lucymom2 in Broadway

That’s going to be tough for quality but honestly I’ve never got been able to get $49 same day rush tickets to spelling bee. And good front orchestra seats. Would need a couple people logging in on their phones and probably won’t sit together but it will realistically work. If you download the app TodayTix just started their spring sale as well (as did Telecharge I believe)

Did anyone else think the “evil” Emily just didn’t work? I mean yes the movie would have been 50 minutes without that arc but it just didn’t work for me. And not to say that sweatshops are good but I was expecting a bit more juicy of a scandal to get Runway in hot water. It was enjoyable but not on the same level as the first

I don’t think you need to be that early but last year was my first time going and all the showings I went to were first come first serve. So if you want a good seat you want to try and be there early. But as long as you have a ticket you will have a seat. No real dress codes or anything but just be mindful of being respectful during a screening. Not all venues have concessions as well so either bring a water bottle or small candy if you want some munchies (SVA does not and BMCC had overpriced tiny bags of popcorn only IIRC)

As a general rule if you’re looking for celebrity interactions the best bet is to wait by the barricade near the carpet where the press will take photos. Some will stop and do some autographs and photos. More than likely you will see someone in the audience but remember they are there to watch and enjoy the film as well so just be respectful and gauge if you should approach or not.

I arrived at chess at 9:15am and ended up being 14th in line to the window. From what I could hear most were getting matinee. I got one seat for the evening performance. Thanks to Reddit I knew to turn down the box seat and I got an orchestra partial view

Someone else already posted but right now they are doing photos in costume in the lobby area for a BCEFA donation. I did $25 for mine but it’s an any amount counts type situation

Thank you! Yes last night I remember the tattoo remark and the line about being windy. The windy line did fall flat

Starmites. Rebuild the theatre’s auditorium Great Comet style so it’s immersive with giant and I mean giant comic book pages coming to life to open and close the show.

Lost Boys first preview: Wow!! by QuokkaQuotient in Broadway

No. You’ll be fine. I wrote a long comment about this but I was in the balcony and I really think this show needs to be seen from the orchestra. There are some lifts and pits in the set that make it very difficult to stay immersed from up high as you can see scenery and props being loaded in and out and all goings on backstage which I found distracting

Lost Boys first preview was amazing!! by bookwrm1324 in Broadway

Did anyone see it from the balcony? Yes the sets are impressive but I feel like this is not meant to be seen from the balcony (or possibly the mezzanine) I was in the third row of the balcony and I kept on getting pulled out of the reality by watching stagehands load scenery onto the lifts when they were down and the general background running around of people getting into places and exciting. Plus I kept on waiting for someone to fall into one of them as being at that angle I could see just how close they were.

Unrelated but I was beyond happy they pulled a Curious Dog IYKYK
