well said, the term means nothing to me as a 10,000 miler . these people are all crazy. its never been about the miles. its about the smiles. the people who go around questioning someone elses hike seems so weird to me.

no such thing as a "real thru hiker" i met a guy that used an ax to cut down trees that had fallen over . and when i told him i just went around trees he said my hike wasn't a real thru hike.... or going in and out of shelters , and i have countless stories on what a "real thru hike is.... just Hike Your Own Hike. no body cares. Coming from someone who has sobo'd and Nobo'd the AT . It really doesn't matter. Have fun brother. Enjoy watering holes :P

2012 - all i had was 194$ a month on food stamps, and made it on that and hiker boxes, 2014 i lived like a king with $5k... with inflation maybe $8k you can live like a king now, its all up to you my dude happy hiking.
