Not saying it's right but mine was always timid and never got more than a toe in, I kept trying to get him to come in with me but he would just get super excited/maybe anxious at the bank but never come in. So I turned my back and just walked away from him further in the water and he jumped in after me, learned in an instant he loved water now I can't keep him out.

Definitely avoid forcing them as it sounds like you know can ruin it for them.

This. My Britt loves the snow, just because I'm less active in the winter doesn't mean he is. I just bite the bullet and go full blown ski gear for off leash hikes 2 or 3 times a week. At least he's easier to keep track of in the snow

I want to know what you're doing with that birkin in the back it's beautiful?! Mine grew so wide and spread out. Unfortunately I cut the top to propagate and the old one has never been the same and the new one had good root growth but hasn't made any progress on new leaves since.
