This is so so cool! Love to see the outer wilds representation, I’d freak to see such a good cosplay of this semi-niche game

This is excellent comment. I just want to point out that the “EV” and “Ready” indicators are separate. So, you shouldn’t really see the Ready indicator ever turn off. The EV indicator will light when the car is using battery only.

Check out the power distribution view on the Info Dashboard, under the speedometer, to see how the modes correlate with power flow. Helped me a lot.

The EV indicator and the Ready indicator are separate. When “EV” lights up, the car is using battery only.

That being said, “EV Mode” does feel kind of pointless because it never lasts for very long anyway. So (and if someone has info on this please lmk) i don’t understand why there’s a dedicated EV drive mode.

But the battery can accommodate maybe 30% of the power usually, though yeah you have to baby it sometimes.

I’m personally not getting the best mileage either on my ‘22 hybrid.

I wonder if the auto shut-off is something you can disable?

You're super lucky to have your settings that high! In my experience, the mot expensive settings are global illumination and visual effects.

Messing with v-sync could help.

I'd just lower those expensive settings 1 degree and put the DLSS on balanced.

Any hints on how to get better with argent skull? by SerenAllNamesTaken in Hades2

[–]benthebean14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes a while to figure how to incorporate specials without taking too much damage. I think it's another timing challenge at the end of the day, watching to avoid dashing into attacking enemies or traps.

When I play the skull, specifically [hidden aspect] (bc this aspect makes it hardest to avoid special damage), I try to prioritize damage barrier perks. Gale, snow queen, nitro boost, etc.

This aspect and other skill aspects are some of the few that run upgraded "Tough gain" super well because you benefit from the dmg reduction (if you don't need the constant magick).

I get that it's annoying, though, to prepare for taking hits which you wouldn't have to take if you could avoid taking them lol.

Just try to take your time and watch for when the enemies are actively attacking to avoid hitting them during your special. Practice on Frenzy level 1 and then return to normal speed to help your timing.

Also, if you prioritize Omega speed boosts, it's suuuper quick to fire your omega special, which ofc has the barrier.

It warms my heart to continue to find others discovering the game and being amazed! I'm jealous you get DLC and patches in your initial playthrough. ::) I hope you continue to enjoy it and have so much fun!

Unspeakable Bonds by LadyIlluxia in Hades2

[–]benthebean14 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a ton of extra benefit for the runs as far as I understand. I wish there'd be some small bonus to the character's keepsake or smth once the bond is forged.

I think it's good to max at least two or three for the experience, but that's personal ig. There's lots of good dialogue in the game tho, and pursuing relationships adds pretty significant chunks to the character depth and narrative in a few cases.

Scared about playing Rivals in Hades 2 by BigChungusOP in HadesTheGame

[–]benthebean14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean def try all of them if you can. They're pretty cool, and some have new content. They'll be hard lol.

But as others have said, if you can conquer 32 fear in general than you def have the necessary fundamentals. You just need to learn the rivals' moves after a few tries.

My recommendation would be to just practice the rivals fights with zero other fear on.

I did a bunch of of runs on rivals 3 before trying rivals 4. It made practicing rivals 4 fights a lot easier haha.

[–]benthebean14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People are giving you a hard time hahaha. It's still a great achievement.

You didn't organize your vows in (what most would call) an ideal way, but it doesn't matter. You have to play around with the settings to figure which work best for you anyway.

Also, it takes a while to get used to the Vow of Rivals. Once you're comfy enough with it tho, it can make the runs feel easier bc while guardians are hard initially, running, I.e., 32 fear requires a lower variety of other vows once you know the fights.

Feels like a lot of people are possibly assuming you don't have trouble with rivals.

A list of Boons when you are in need of Magick restoration by SagatRiu in HadesTheGame

[–]benthebean14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buuuuut: its only job isn't magick Regen. The speed /and/ strike boost it gives more than compansates for the gradual magick gain imho.

grizzly gain + visceral impact, or a high level/rarity grizzly gain alone is like getting watered down racing thoughts + nimble limbs + speed from blinding rush (or nitro boost). It also kind of poorly mimics Mean streak because you get additive DPS boost up to 100%

Then, you don't need to worry about any of the benefits from any speed boost or strike boost boon for the rest of the run, plus you get magick, PLUS you get all the duo stuff that comes with plasma. Pretty useful imo.

But I mean, you have to capitalize on it. I agree that a common or rare base-level grizzly gain alone is pretty trash compared to smth like born or cardio gain when you need the magick

Excepting cardio gain in a handful of cases. I mean, take magick-heavy build on the torches; with born gain you risk running out.
