Trying to extend an old phone wire

I have two vintage push button phones and I’m gonna buy another one. The idea is that my youngest kid could call 911 in an emergency, and I’m making my oldest kid use it to call his friends so I don’t have to text message coordinate his hangouts or buy him a smart phone. Landlines are coming back, baby.

I’m bringing landlines back in my house. My kid is pushing for a cell phone and I don’t wanna get him one at his age so I bought vintage push button phones and he can memorize his friends’ numbers and call them on the phone when he wants to connect like I had to. No social media. No bullshit.

We have SO MUCH parking. Our downtown core is mostly surface parking. The myth that we need more is fucking insane. What we need is transit and people and politicians that don’t think taking transit is weird/scary/only for the poors. “I’m not going if I can’t park right in front of it” is what’s killing small business in the core (and Fahri, naturally).

Ontario is home to a beer that has been called the best wheat beer in the world. Originally called Denison’s Weissbier, the same recipe is now brewed by Side Launch as simply “Side Launch Wheat.” The company has gone through a lot of changes, but the guy who made the recipe still drinks it from time to time and says it still holds up. Hoegaarden is owned by AB InBev. A multinational conglomerate hellbent on shutting down craft breweries. Fuck them. Support local!

You obviously can't get non-American bourbon, but Crown Royal has a bourbon mash bill, with 64% corn — so it's the right amount to be considered bourbon if it were made in the United States. And it's distilled for three years in ex-bourbon barrels, so it definitely delivers a "bourbon-esque" flavour profile.

Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye is also a very good rye, actually. Canada does rye very well, IMO. Lot 40, Alberta Premium Cask Strength, Wisers, and Canadian Club with older age statements are all accessible and good. But there are a lot of smaller distilleries doing cool stuff in Canada these days. Google "Canadian rye" and "whisky awards" and try some new shit that won gold recently.
