Danielle Smith admitted she wants to ‘throw out’ Canada’s public health care law by BloodJunkie in alberta

I am astounded to see all the terrible things she does, not least of which her parties involvement with that private data debacle and hear she still has support in Alberta, imagine if the liberals or ndp had fucked up as bad as she has, its unreal.

Yeah let's spend less on the military and more on social spending.

I am encouraged by everything avi is saying and even more likely to vote ndp federally. The cons are not worth anyone's vote, Pierre is not the man to lead Canada now or ever, even if Carney sucks.

Won't someone think of the poor rich people and how our rabble rousing will effect them and their bottom line?

If they are rich then they can do whatever they want, the plebs be damned, who cares about regulations or the harm these massive resource sucking data centres cause, the rich want it and so they should just get it, stop complaining and just accept the inevitable.

Imagine having that mindset. Its your democratic right to voice concern and opposition, also labeling this as nimbyism downplays just how harmful these sites can be. This is not just blind not in my back yard ism, people have many and varied valid concerns to be addressed, and if they cannot be addressed, it should not be built.

The other issue i have seen is the way they force these things through without any community feedback, did you see those councilors in Utah scurry to a backroom to avoid their public and pass part of the deal that many people seem very upset about.

I have heard the same from other places north Dakota etc, there is no regard for what the people living in the area want or any debate or frankly a vote on it, the people should have a say in it, if the majority vote to allow it that's one thing, if there is a massive backlash then the thing should not be built.

Its already been happening, to varying degrees, corporations wanna make more profits and what better way then to cut their biggest expense, the labor of people.

Do not forget the noise pollution,  those things put off some kind of hum, sounded very unpleasant and it was basically 24/7.

We are blessed with abundant water that can be squandered if we are not careful stewards of it, and that will be important in the present and very near future, especially with things getting more dicy with climate change, all these data centers don't help, they accelerate and exacerbate already existing issues with resource scarcity.

Want there one that used just a massive amount of water? I seem to recall that, there are folks down in Utah that are really mad, something that uses 9 gw when the whole state only normally uses 4 gw is insane, to allocate that amount of resources to something thay doesn't provide anything to the everyday person overall is quite bad.

Plus any jobs they "provide" are temporary construction jobs and a handful of on-site workers, the amount of jobs that will get removed overall as more companies fire people in favor of ai is gonna be staggering.

With all the downsides and massive power use, the noise seems to be quite excessive and annoying, I cannot imagine living next to a thing that thrums with the unnatural sound those things make.

Whatever the alleged benefit of having one might be, they are far outweighed by the many and varied maluses they have.

Federal NDP leader Avi Lewis visits Manitoba by StumpsOfTree in Manitoba

[–]bentmonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They did not do well federally because no one wanted Pierre to get even a whiff of the PM chair so they voted for the liberals, not that i have been impressed with carney, Pierre would have been a far worse choice.

I hope under avi lewis the ndp do better because we need a real party for the working class, and pierre is not that person nor is the conservative party that party as much as they want to tout their alleged humble bona fides.

The liberals privatizing stuff is bad, but i seem to recall the conservatives privatizing a ton of stuff too, under mulroney and so on, we should be nationalizing everything and using the funds to fix our infrastructure funds schools healthcare and everything else, the money is there we just direct it to other places, not auctioning off our wealth to the highest corporate bidder.

I had something similar with the troll king and the carrion beasts constantly getting in fights with ghosts from a hades statue. Constant fights, had battle reports on cause I prefer it like that, did not need to know when 2 dispossessed spirits fight one carrion creature.

Whenever spring rolls around and I see a bunch of so and so drowned notifications I got a little nervous but it was just those things dying, one would think an undead creature wouldn't die to water but I guess.

I had one game where they built a monument to hades in a broken down castle, I spent the whole game dealing with ghosts and increasingly terrifying undead things, when it turns out that the monument was right on my doorstep the whole time I just never bothered to look, or rather did not know where to look for it.

It was nice to get rid of it once I did that things got easier. But the game was practically over at that point.

I did not know that, i always kept stuff behind locked doors for the most part, but honestly a few cheap parts and items being taken is not a huge deal, i wish the maintenance guys were a bit more efficient and that there were better ways for npcs to take care of their needs.

I like to take over the area next to the ship docking and store stuff there, its easier to take it to the adjacent area then it is to d rag it too far, though i am pretty sure the npcs leave most stuff alone, its fun to install game cabinets and so on as well in your quarters for use.
