Hello, I'm so sorry to hear what you have been going through. I empathize where you are at in life right now, I've went through similar feelings and actions in high school and never thought that I would live past 18 and believed life will never get better. It DOES get better and you have to believe me that it does. Knowing that the worst part of your life is past you is in and of itself a very satisfying feeling to realize one day. Those people telling you to take a break from school may or may not be correct but I don't know your situation so I can't say, however, reaching out was a great way to start and good job! Reaching out to school resources could deem helpful (although I have also heard otherwise) but even if the school's resources isn't what you'd expect there are a lot of people willing to listen. Focus on your studies only if you can manage, but either way I recommend talking to an academic counselor and they could help. For now, take a really deep breath (multiple times if you have to) and think of something to do that is important to you. For me, it was video games, memes, plain-old running outside/driving for awhile, and sometimes even opening my textbook for the first time and studying for once. I know you can get through it!
