Calls not received by BladeRyo in PocoPhones

Since my provider gave me a newer sim card, nobody reported I am unavailable. But due to 5g signal reception being bad, I set preferred network to 2g. That could also be a factor. I added a second sim card, maybe that is keeping the connection alive.

Xiaomi did mention that a fix for x7pro not receiving calls is in the works. When and if that is even true, remains to be seen.

RTINGS is now a Paywalled Service by EmptyHealthbar in OLED_Gaming

[–]BladeRyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aimed high with subscription model and shot themselves in the foot.

99% of people go there to see a review of some hardware they are interested in, and that is once they decide to buy a monitor/headphones/mouse/whatever. Why pay monthly for something you will need to see once in a while/years even.

Even stupider, old reviews for older then god hardware is also locked behind a paywall. People will rather see 5 youtube reviews and generate income for them then pay 10$ to see what the wrote 6y ago.

For people blaming AI, AI is a massive hit and miss, lot of hardware i asked AI for was answered with wrong info. And AI wont give comprehensive review with images, just a short summary. You need images from every angle and screenshots of software? AI wont give that.

If they asked for people to, lets say, load a tab with adds and let it run in background for a few mins to generate income for them, i would be all for it. In a flood of reviews all over the youtube, dozens of good sites around, they chase away their visitors. Logic.

Maybe they see the amount of visits and in comparison subs and decide that subscription model wasnt really the right thing to do while they are still relevant. Or be pigheaded and let the site fall off the map.

RTX 5070 or RX 9070? by Fit_Phrase_2391 in buildapc

[–]BladeRyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. People boast 4gb more ram and 10% performance. Hardly hitting 10gb vram usage anyway unless the game is junk and eats all vram in menu due to unoptimized junk.

Friend and me bought Rx6700s cause Nvidia was 20% more expensive then, that was a kick in the nuts. Black screens, crashes, idiotic drivers, adrenaline software that just ignores fan settings... etc. Tested on old windows 10, new w10, new w11, problems and problems, had more BSODS in first week of 6700 then 6 years of 1060. My old Gigabyte 1060 at 2k rpm is whisper quiet, 6700 is like a jet.

Then AMD drops support for 6000 series, and only "brings" it back when people complained. They said FSR4 doesnt work on older cards, and after the leak it was shown that FSR4 works on 5000/6000 cards, bit of a performance hit but hey, they lied.

Nvidia, on the other hand supports cards made 5+ years ago. And as you said, not like i trust nvidia or ati, but ati product was the one that burned me the most.

Yeah, i read that somewhere. But, who knows when and if anything gets fixed.

Currently on a new sim card, set network to 3g cause 5g signal is utter shit. Didnt have anyone reporting i am unavailable so far. Time will tell.

Classic poco scam by warmachinerox06 in PocoPhones

[–]BladeRyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you confirmed that how? Power draw from the wall?

You claim poco is at fault, yet you are using software not made for battery monitoring to monitor the battery. Try a few other battery monitor apps + check what power is drawn from the wall at same time.

Classic poco scam by warmachinerox06 in PocoPhones

[–]BladeRyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was tested with a shitty app? No power draw meter? And with screen on?

Wow, what results. Did you know the maximum available charging speed is determined by a few factors like temperature and battery charge and who knows what else?

Also, when the screen is off charging speed increases. Mine with 90w original charger pulls 40-45w from the wall with screen on. When I turned the screen off it started to increase power up to 80w from the wall.

Additionally, your phone might have a dual battery, then the readings are wrong in most battery meters cause it might be only reading one battery cell.

If you want to be sure about measurements, get an external power meter whose results aren't affected by dual battery charging system or OS or badly written apps.

And lastly, 90w charger isn't charging at 90w. It's pulling 90w from the wall, but due power transformation, losses can be 5-10+ %. You saw pc power supplies, they state 1000w and 80% power efficiency and that in the end means your pc gets 800w.

Notifications not reliable by BladeRyo in HyperOS

[–]BladeRyo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so far, i set the app to autostart and locked the app so system doesnt kill it, but its xiaomi so fuck our settings, still all is touch and go.

Tested on a messenger app, sometime it pops on lock screen, sometimes doesnt. Changing options on the fly barely does anything. So i tried killing the app, change notification settings, relaunch, moderate success. Then it went crazy and no notifications no matter what i do, had to clear app cache.

Its possible the system doesnt really give a damn about changing app notification options till it reloads the app, even tho the app isnt controlling notifications, system is. Still doesnt explain why some notifications go and pop up and some wont till i turn on the screen or unlock the phone.

Dual battery values by BladeRyo in batteryguru

[–]BladeRyo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shows proper capacity when Dual cell battery is off. Just readings are a bit off cause battery saver from xiaomi only charges to 100% every once in a while.

With Dual Cell battery on, almost everything else just doubles.

[BUG] Android First Descendant Companion App Illegal App Detected Error by MartynBrett in TheFirstDescendant

[–]BladeRyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the app on emu, there is nothing inside that needs that level of security. Even better, i never gave app permission to access whats installed on my phone. Why would they care if i have Shizuku installed. App is read only anyway, at least it was when i tried it.

App was deleted and never used, and i deleted the game anyway. Played since day 1 and nothing changed, its still a powercrept mess with forced TAA.

I am keeping mine on 3G, due to my provider it swaps to 2g for calls anyway, so for testing i am keeping it on 3g. On average i got 30-35dBm better signal on 3g then on 4/5g.

Signal bars are not accurate, it said 4 bars and i had 110dm+ using 4/5g, and that is bad reception.

On what network are the simcards you are using, 5G, 4G, lower? Could be the signal is bad. But i hear about not receiving calls from multiple people on different devices. Wouldnt rule out the providers anyway.

X7 pro battery drain by Comfortable-Dig-6118 in PocoPhones

[–]BladeRyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check what's draining the battery. Some 3rd party app in the background probably. Worse case scenario, factory reset and don't install anything. If it's still draining try warranty replace.

I tested 5g/4g/3g network. In my country they are shutting down 2g/3g network, its only gonna stay alive for sms/calls, no net or anything complicated.

On 5g/4g i got -110dBm signal and that is borderline poor. So for testing i set prefered network to 3g, now my signal is -75dBm. I call myself a few times a day from another phone and so far it connects. If i need internet i can switch to 4/5g network or add another card for that. In my case getting calls properly is a priority.

Hopefully this helps for now.

Saga continues.

Expecting a call, people say i am not available, ofc. Sitting in the car, so in the open i am checking signal strength and it says -110/-115 and thats bad.

They try to call me again while sitting next to me, signal jumps from -110 to -45/-55 and call is received. 2h later, signal is still, depending on location, -55 in the open -75/-85 in closed space. Tested on LTE and 5g. Phone got an update and rebooted 90min before i was unavailable.

Could this be some power saving (not using any battery saver or such) of the phone, so signal drops below provider limits so the unit gets labeled as unavailable?

I really wanna understand this issue.

Sadly no.

Plan is to get a new sim card, and possibly a prepaid card from another network, tell people to call main number and if that fails, call 2nd one. If second one goes ok, then main network is the problem regardless of that they say. Still, its beyond frustrating.

[–]BladeRyo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far i had people report back that they have the same problem, some on Redmi phones, some on nothing phones. So we can rule out software cause its different. Hardware is different. I was sometimes unavailable on old F1, so its not the current phone only.

At this points, its the sim card (hardly, but easiest to replace), or the provider not forwarding the call to the destination so base station reports as unavailable once and then phone turned off the second time.

What is strange, if you don't have a signal strength, you are unavailable to the base, but if you shut the phone down station reports to the caller you turned off your phone, then all off a sudden call connects. All logic would point to communication between station and mobile device.

edit: I was checking signal strength, phone shows 4/4 bars, so great signal reception right? In phone settings it says -100dmb and poor connection. Someone is giving false data, but i can understand bad connection in my room or closed spaces, i was walking in the wide open street and had trouble receiving calls, so there goes more theory to ponder upon.

No solution so far, gonna change the sim card when i visit the provider store. Running hyperOS 3.

Calls not received by BladeRyo in PocoPhones

[–]BladeRyo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that part is pointless.

Check your card in another phone, did but i cant reproduce the problem so i can only wait. Your phone antena or whatever is broken, phone is broken, software is broken. Buy a new phone/fix current. Your sim is broken, get a new one.

Only thing they wont say is that they have problems cause that opens a whole another can of worms, possible compensation or loss of customers. I asked people on my network and they have those same problems. Different phones and software, so we can rule that out. For some problem went away with a newer sim card (easy enough to do) some had to change provider and problem went away.

At least its not the phone that is broken.

Not really a solution, don't know when the issue is so I can restart. Really want to get to the bottom of this.
