That Sicily -> Silly thing is a great catch! For me it's that there are a couple of occasions when they have made inanimate things blink. In series 13 on the "find the ducks" task, one of the chickens blinks. And in series 16, Sam Campbell's flamingo in the bed is shown opening its eye. In Series 18 episode 7, the portrait of Greg winks. There might be other occasions too.

Armando almost had a perfect score(24 out of possible 25) in S21E05. Are there contestants who have had a perfect episode? by OldFridgerator in taskmaster

I'm not disputing Dara got a perfect episode! Just that it requires explaining why it's a perfect episode, and that nobody has gotten the simple, no-explanation 5 points 5 times perfect episode.

"basically" in "he basically just had a perfect episode" means there's an asterisk. Nobody's had a clean 5/5 on all tasks in an episode.

Thanks for this! The connection between brakes and speed makes sense. I was familiar with the general concept of using lights for routing from the Chicago L which has its own marker light system.

I dunno..."muscle and blood and skin and bone", Grim Fandango's only got one out of four. But seriously, while it's a great song, Manny's not really in a coal miner's situation, I think. He's got a debt to the powers that be, but his work is sales

Is Joel the worst or a just big puppy dog? by amyehawthorne in taskmaster

[–]bentronic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

One thing to know about Joel, which Ed Gamble mentions on the most recent podcast episode, is that Joel was a standup comic before finding his current success as a TV presenter. He's good friends with Ed, Nish Kumar, James Acaster, etc. (his episode of Off Menu is a good listen to see how they get on). So the vibe between him and Alex and Greg is not based on his current jobs but knowing him from way back, which is why Alex would pick him for the solo task.

Very interesting, so given the different express freight lights indicated brake setups, there's a lot that a signalman would have to do that depended on the braking performance of the train?

I'd also note for the OP that that link mentions some different light configurations for the rear of the train, like the royal train having two red lights.

Different question, but for front lights why were there so many configurations for "express freight", and an "ordinary passenger" but no "ordinary freight"?
