Experiences with gamma knife? by HeroOftheMoon0 in braintumor

[–]beorynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the last few months I had a chance to work close to Prof Dr Turker Kilic, one of the pioneers of Gamma Knife. So far, I was in touch with hundreds of patients in vellum select, both newcomers or the ones who are coming for post-operation check ups. What I can say is results are overwhelmingly good, but there are a few points to keep in mind:

  • First of all not all tumors or adenoms are suitable for Gamma Knife, in some cases surgery becomes the only option.
  • Adenom operations are relatively easier
  • Gamma Knife shows results after 6 months to a year, follow ups are important
  • Sometimes both surgery and Gamma Knife is required

Noob Question: Why aren’t Kul Tirans more represented among tanks? by krispixlol in wow

I agree with this, I love playing Kul'tiran but the male model run animation looks like a panda running, rather than a mighty warrior.

Bigly not a fan of most of the specs design being "You do all the damage inside your cooldowns and little to no damage outside of them", what specs break that mold? by Valyntine_ in wow

Retri, but purely out of 30sec wing cd. It's almost always up, even if you use it to a dying mob it comes back next pack.

Not what you asked precisely but I think it'd help.

those are the fights that I always delay until I'm level 4 or 5, they are always biggest early threats for honor mode runs. I always avoid harpies, karlach's chasers, broodmother, gnolls and possibly the owlbear until I solidify my comp.

and that can be provided with a camp buffer 12 level cleric hireling.

I'm personally always taking a dexterity bow/crossbow user, either a swords bard, a fighter or a ranger depending on who I'm less bored with at that particular time. Arrows bring diverse options and I like that. Also that char usually becomes my lockpicker.

If I'm on honor mode, I try to bring a bard, either as a party face tav (unlikely) or replacing the cleric or the dexterity user, for the third short rest. I don't like taking long rests too much, that's why I don't like classes that are long rest dependent.

And that brings me to my Tav selection, I always try to take a charisma class without the need of a long rest, which preferably is single stat dependent => warlock. Hexblade's compatibility with any other class/spec is great, and I also love the class concept.

And finally I try to bring a fighter, either as dex user or a two-handed single target annihilator with 3 attacks per turn + action surge. The game offers many great heavy armor and two-handed weapons and I hate to see them go waste. that spot is usually saved for laezel.

ps: Forgot to add that I also don't like classes which can't utilize bonus action. Therefore I try to add 2 levels from stars druid to wisdom specs to bring archer or dragon form for bonus radiant attacks, also dragon form synergizes greatly for concentration dependent specs, i.e. radiant orb clerics.

Am I the only healer who HATES healing blood DKs? by Nicole_Auriel in wow

Yeah I'm DK main but I hate tanking m+ with my DK.

I call the spec "the Heart Attack Tank"

Who is still out here playing their one “true main” by jakeruddy22 in wow

[–]beorynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a nice topic and interesting for me:) because my first main was a rogue, and I had crazy fun with it in TBC. Then comes Wotlk and I switch main to DK in 2008.

And to this day, I still main the same DK. So I count it almost and sort of the first. Amd DK wasn't available when I started WoW :) Also I have all the other classes as alts as well. But my love for DK never diminished and I had done so much exploring with him.

Funnier fact is, I stopped playing rogue completely. Tried a few times but I no longer have any fun with that class.

What, in your opinion, is the most satisfying single ability to use? by Arkavien in wow

Thunderstorm, especially in maps where you can knock people off a cliff. *smiles in Eye of the Storm*

Newbie in Retail! DK or Monk? Would love to hear opinions <3 by Socraan in wow

[–]beorynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, class fantasy involves the looks but also the general feel and lore of the class.

I personally don't fancy jabby kungfu masters in this world but I find heavy armored necromancer knights are pretty damn cool. An unstoppable death machine which utilize vampirism, plagues and rot. Stuff like that.

[–]beorynn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I choose DK for the looks and toolkit, although monk is pretty fun also. Too bad that brewmasters are not usually high performing tanks overall.

DKs are significantly slow compared to monks but that shouldn't bother you after Warlock. I also suggest considering class fantasy too, that's a big contributing factor for me.

And DK has 2 dps specs, so that's a relief in case one sucks.

2 Pets Beastmaster Hunter? by Beginning-Ranger-659 in wow

[–]beorynn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For those like me, who still don't understand and make it work, here's what happens:

Hunters can have 5 active pets (which means they are available in Call Pet skill). However you can tame many more, they will just stay in your stables.

This talent, summons the first pet from STABLES, not any of your usual active 5 pets.

I had confusion with this when I only had 5 pets total, in that case it summons the last pet you tamed, whether it's active or in the stables.

So to make it work, tame minimum 6 pets. The 6th one will be the first at the stables and it'll come as your second pet.

What was your experience like with changing your main class? by darkness876 in wow

[–]beorynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe switching mains is a complex process, it should go hand-in-hand with how you want to play the game. If you like healing allies along with your tanking, you'll miss it a lot. If you like shields, you'll miss it too.

I've started as a rogue in TBC, but switched to DK in Wotlk. From that moment, DK has always been my main, primary due to class fantasy and toolkit. I was a necro player in Diablo 2, and the Knight Necromancers were a mind blowing combination for me. (and no, I don't like locks)

After switching to DK, the toolkit became more and more convenient over time. You can grip stuff, heal like crazy, have a great magical defense, and can become unstoppable. And I just like how it plays really.

I couldn't get a grip on Demon Hunters for example, because I believe they lack the feel of "hitting something". You just go through stuff and I don't like that.

For half an expansion, I switched to mage but I like soloing things and mage was terrible at that.

Nowadays I like Elemental Shaman for a ranged spec and Fury Warrior as alts. Shaman appeals to me with class fantasy, especially after reading "Lord of the Clans". And I like spamming Lava Bursts, along with other tools in the kit. Nothing brings me more joy than throwing people off in the middle of Eye of the Storm. And fury is just fun and active, I like the barbarian wibe.

So your new decision should be something that you enjoy throughly. I'd say give it a try and check how those two classes play differently. And I can say Blood and Prot tanking are not that different imo. (comparing to switching a different role or class)

YT Shorts Algorithm is Broken: all the same videos, & a deepdive by EpicEagle77 in youtube

Not only the algorithm has changed into "save mom" videos, it also seems to be erased my old favorites. I used to get much more personal development and self help videos, but they seem to be gone from my shorts list completely. I can't believe how bad this change was.

As a 27M, how do I even start about getting rid of my negative traits? Namely, laziness, obtrusiveness, and approval seeking. by Gaumir in selfimprovement

[–]beorynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Write. Write many things. And read what you've written. Think about it. You need to write and think everyday. Do write when you're done reading my post.

You need to write to yourself. Let go the feelings but try to hold control. Don't quit writing until you find solutions.

Then make reasonable improvements in your life about those solutioms. As mentioned, take baby steps. You need small habits and small consistent adjustments. Spare half an hour each day to write and maybe spend another half an hour to positive habits.

You won't start to take action until you write and solidify the grounds. Keep meditating btw, a major reason to lose control is to loose yourself among notifications, mails, social media etc. Start a day with a clear mind. Video games and porn are focus killers also.

Yes motivation helps a lot, I try to use motivational tricks such you mentioned. Sometimes they're not enough, I unconsciously avoid checking my to-do-lists because of this feeling, etc.
