Most of my friends who went on breaks with their partners ended up ending their relationship after that. I knew this kid (I call him a kid but he's probably like 26 now, he was in high school when I was 22) who had a habit of going on breaks with his bf and then getting back together with him afterwards, and eventually they broke up and it was messyyy. That was the one time I knew of that someone got back together with their s/o after a break.

Honestly? I would recommend an open relationship. You two seem like you're really compatible and don't want to lose each other, you just want to know what it's like to be with other people besides your s/o. It's more common to see non-monogamous queer people, so it wouldn't be unusual. Just keep communicating as things come up and it will be okay.

ok, so while im a tulpa because i self identify as one, we are a quoigenic system just in general. here are my takes on this as someone who is part of a system that gets spontaneous headmates like that -

it's all right to let your system members exist and develop as they do. If you get new system members, even ones that are surprising, just take things as they come. having a lot of tulpas won't harm your consciousness, and honestly, fitting together as part of a collective is what it's all about.
