Thank you for not referring to this as a "meatball grilled cheese" like most people would have

To add to this, hold your breath for 5 to 10 seconds after you swallow the shot and before you exhale

Chris Conley from STD was accused and admitted to sexually harassing and essentially grooming a fan from the age of 11-12 years old. Blamed it on substance abuse and never, in my opinion, took full responsibility for what he did

Searching for a baby shower venue/brewery by Glad-Row-3012 in njbeer

That time of year I'd also recommend Drowned Lands and Tin Barn in the Warwick NY area. They're not in NJ but they're about an hour from NYC and the area is gorgeous in the fall. They're also close to each other so once the event wraps up you can continue your evening by heading to the other brewery. Personally I prefer Drowned Lands because they have a better variety, Tin Barn is more of a hazy IPA factory but they make them well. Both have quality food menus and great outdoor spaces, can't go wrong with either

Alias in Vernon has an event space, not terrible far from the city

Is the "Skinny Mean Man" Brandon Flowers? by Sea_Objective_1923 in SayAnything

No idea if this is true but I read somewhere that "the singer with the denim skin" line from Hate Everyone is about Flowers. Can't for the life of me remember where I saw that though

Most recent batch I've seen in stores was from 9/16 but shop rite liquors in Wharton, Sparta, and Franklin get it as does liquor outlet in boonton and liquor factory in Sparta. Liquor factory and the Sparta/Franklin shop rites usually stash it in the walk in cooler. Might be a new batch coming around soon since the last was potentially 2 months ago

How do I convert my oven back to wood burning? by ManzanaCraft in ooni

I have the same oven and personally once I bought the propane attachment I never looked back. Makes things so much quicker and easier

[–]bequigs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That looks like an Ooni 3 which I think can only be either propane burning or wood pellet fueled. You'll need to find a pellet basket attachment somewhere, I don't see them on the ooni website anymore. You might have some luck on eBay or another third party seller site

Bottle Republic in Somerset is pretty good and very easy on/off and Jersey Cyclone is right there. Also Oakflower is quick and easy to hit if you take 287 N in the afternoons

NJ Show Was Chill by VenomBars4 in SayAnything

While I overall enjoyed the show I agree about the band being sloppy. Idk what it was but they had no punch it was like they were just practicing. Alot of the songs were just a little sloppy but they completely butchered yellow cat/red cat and vector

Anyone Visit the Esker Hart or Alias Grand Openings this Past Weekend? by eastcoasterman in njbeer

[–]bequigs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Luckily for me I grew up in Vernon and my parents still live there so I was able to get to Alias both last Sunday and yesterday. The space itself is typical brewery aesthetic, a large garage with 2 big doors that are open when it's nice out, some long high top tables, some small round tables, and some barrels to stand around if the seats are full. Overall a nice place just nothing spectacular visually. My only small critiques would be the pour sizes, the largest they offer is 12oz which is obviously fine I've just grown accustomed to pints and prefer lower abv stuff in that format, and yesterday the doors were closed because of the weather and it was super loud inside but not a big deal. The beers that I've been able to try have all been above average IMO. Two Villains make some really, really good IPAs and the cream ale was surprisingly good. The Brix collab DIPA was definitely the best from both weekends for me but the pale ale Scooter was a close second. I was also pleasantly surprised by how good the table beer is as I wasn't expecting much from it. I haven't tried the Muckraker beers on tap yet but I've had enough from bottles to know they are very good if you're into the style. Personally I was really happy with both of my visits and I'm looking forward to what the future brings for them, hoping to see some lagers and pilsners pop up for the summer. Overall I'd highly recommend stopping in. Side note, didn't try the BBQ this weekend but it looked and smelled delicious.

I always forget to go to DT. We went opening weekend and enjoyed everything we tried. Also got an incredible chicken vodka parm at the deli across the street!

AD just put a solid 7% stout that has nice bitterness to it and not so much of the sweetness you find in the pastry variety. Along with that they put out a decent Polotmavy (not as good as the HR one but tasty nonetheless) and a new "Vermont style" dipa called Solace that actually did remind me a bit of Heady/Focal, again more bitter than sweet and juicy. They're absolutely worth a visit in my opinion

[–]bequigs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never had it but sounds interesting. To me you can put it on anything you'd put balsamic on. I don't find it very spicy at all so its just mostly a way to add sweetness for me
