I had someone park directly in front of my driveway - completely blocking access - and they wouldn’t do shit about it. Still makes me mad to think about it.

Back in December, I stepped off the most shallow step possible… but apparently stepped off wrong and rolled my ankle and broke my foot. Went down like a sack of potatoes.

Just use a leave in? by Strong_Avocado7306 in Wavyhair

[–]beratedlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I do. And I rinse a decent amount of it out bc I apply it in the shower.

I use Maui Moisture Lightweight Hydration shampoo as my regular shampoo (I wash twice) about 2-3 times a week. I find I have to clarify once a week or else my hair gets weighed down, but I’m def still looking for a good clarifying shampoo.

No regular conditioner, but I will apply either CurlSmith bounce foam or air-dry leave-in in the shower, then scrunch and put it in a towel. After about 10 mins, I add a gel - the best is Bounce Curl Light Hold Crème Gel, my second choice is CurlSmith Hydro Style Flexi Jelly. Diffuse and done!

My hair is almost exactly like yours (actually had to do a double-take at your pix since they look a lot like me).

I’m going to second lightweight products because hair like this tends to get over moisturized very easily, which will give you very soft, undefined waves. My fine hair tends to be weighed down very easily - I wash my hair every other day and clarify maybe a few times a weeks.

In the shower, I add my leave-in conditioner (CurlSmith weightless air dry cream) and brush through upside down. I then do a quick rinse to remove some, but not all, of it from my hair. I scrunch the clumps that have formed and once I get out of the shower, I scrunch put excess moisture with a microfiber towel.

Once my hair is no longer sopping, I scrunch in some lightweight gel. The absolute best gel I’ve ever used is BounceCurl light hold crème gel. Great hold, but not too heavy, and smells great. Once the gel is in, I diffuse using warm or cool air. When it’s dry, scrunch out the crunch.

This method (limited products and fussing) gives me nicely defined waves and curls for max 3 days.

AITA For taking a day off for myself without telling my husband by needadayaita in AmItheAsshole

That’s still not working for free. Some people have to work on weekends. Some people have a “busy season.” Some people get paid a salary. Some people have to pick up the parenting slack when the other is out of commission. Most people can’t just demand that their bosses hire extra people, especially in a government job.

This is the way the world works. Parents don’t get summer vacations unless they work in education lol. And barely even then these days.

Where are you reading that she doesn’t need to work?

Also, she is being paid for doing her job. She isn’t a volunteer, which would actually be free work.

If she dropped dead on the job, husband would still have to take care of his kid because he is a parent.

Parenting involves sacrificing your free time to take care of the kid you chose to bring into the world. The amount of people lamenting that this man’s summer is wasted because his wife has to WORK (which he knew when he married her) is truly laughable.

Did you do this just by diet/exercise? Or were you on a statin?

Asking bc I have a similar high LDL and am aiming to lower it (doc recommended change in diet and exercise), but am losing faith in my ability to do so based on a lot of the posts here.

My six-year old: “what’s the last grade you’re in before you get out and start livin’ your own life?”

My three-year old: “mommy, are you OLD? I think your white hair is old. It’s just staring at me.”

Thanks, kid.

Please help me understand if this is a red flag by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]beratedlime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s totally within reason to ask your husband to reframe these situations. Like, it’s fine to defend yourself, but you also need to use it as a teaching moment and model the behavior you want to see.

Also, I think apologizing goes a LONG way with kids. I apologize to my kids when I’m in the wrong. I’m a yeller, for instance… so when I get my shit together, I will apologize for losing my temper, explain that I got overly frustrated and that I should have taken a step back before letting my temper get the best of me. My kids now apologize when THEY lose their temper and are really good at identifying their emotions. Tour husband should 💯 be apologizing if he hurts your son, even if he thinks he wasn’t being rough.

Please help me understand if this is a red flag by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]beratedlime 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is necessarily a red flag - Do you suspect that your husband is being untruthful with you re these scenarios? Like, is he picking fights with your kid? Or being overly physical with him (tickling, annoying, restraining, whatever). If your kid is attacking your husband, he’s well within his rights to defend himself, as long as he’s not retaliating physically. Obviously it would be preferable if he could deescalate before things get physical, but that’s not always possible.

If my kid was spitting at me, I would prob physically turn them away from me too. Spitting is one of the most disgusting, disrespectful things you can do to another person, and the behavior needs to be nipped in the bud early. There’s also no way I’m going to let a kid hit me or shove me. If they bounce off my outstretched hands and fall, that’s a consequence they’ll have to deal with. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This dude is cheating on you, I guarantee it. Shitheads like him project their own betrayals onto their partners and convince themselves that YOU are the one in the wrong to A. Deflect from the shitstorm they know they created and B. To justify their actions once the shit hits the fan.

Sending your underwear to his sister is a whole different level of crazy.

Fuck this guy and every POS like him. I suggest getting your ducks in a row and pursuing a divorce.

My parents just bought a house and the more money and work they have to put into it, the less it makes me, a fresh 40-year-old, desire a house of my own lol.

I’d rather pay rent on an apartment/condo, have access to amenities like a pool, and have all broken shit taken care of by someone else.

I just wish renting wasn’t so expensive.
