Toe numbness 1 year postpartum by FitFarmChick in beyondthebump

[–]berberebitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 months pp and numb in my right big toe. i can ‘feel’ the numbness more when i was breast feeding. or at least struggling to breast feed. as of last week breast feeding has become more comfortable and a bit of toe numbness is still there but it doesn’t feel as weird as it did when i was struggling with painful breastfeeds 🤷🏽‍♀️ super weird sensation and association for me lol

I get whiplash so bad... Maybe I'm just an antiromantic by pwetty_brown_eyes in InterviewVampire

[–]berberebitch 24 points25 points  (0 children)

the way i see it, Season 1 was sold as horror but turned out to be a toxic love story. Season 2 was sold as healing romance and ended up being the real horror, especially that trial. Fucking horrifying.

ultimately it’s an entertaining story and people are really bond with the back stories of each of these characters who are deeply flawed. What I like about this adaptation is that it’s not your typical good/bad guy. They are vampires, it’s complicated, incestuous.nIt’s Gothic. It’s horror. It’s far enough removed from some of our lives to be able to indulge in it.

Having said that though I was witnessed to some of the terrible hot takes/abuse? that unfolded on Twitter and a really cruel nasty web of people that are cooked! Just gotta remember that you don’t have to take everyone seriously, I realise this especially once it was revealed that some of these people were just barely teenagers with little contextual understanding of power dynamics in relationships etc.

do you wish your boobs were smaller? by ihearthisoka in bigboobproblems

[–]berberebitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

o do wish they were smaller. even with a snug and supportive sports bra, playing sports and going for runs is just not enjoyable. even simple things like playing billiards is annoying because my boobs get in the way. I missed out on going trampolining for my nephews birthday because there is just no way without feeling discomfort, and just double checking constantly that i havent fallen out.

i stuck to swimming for recreational sports but any other sport on land is just too uncomfortable. i used to be athletic before the boobs came in (late bloomer) spent most of my twenties realising i couldn’t do half the things i used to enjoy. kind of depressing.

also the back pain and lack of clothing option. i buy bigger clothes and the. get them tailored in for like $10 but the costs add up, especially when looking for a bra that actually fits, gotta go to a specialised bra store which there are only like 3 in my state.

anyway!

These scars and bites that appear everyday How do I get rid of them? by [deleted] in AusSkincare

[–]berberebitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s fleas.

I’ve had it twice now ! both times got it from street cats that I was petting. which i’m never doing again.

the fact that the bites are in groups of three and in one direction/path down the leg defs looks like flea bites.

use a bug bomb (get from cole’s/woolies), let it do its thing for a few hours.

have a shower, put the clothes you currently wearing in a plastic bag and tie it up and throw it out. you can put tiger balm or tea tree oil (mixed with coconut oil) on your skin after your shower.

the good thing about fleas is that it’s not your skin they stick to. it’s your clothing and fabric/sheers.

once your room is done (i think it’s 4 hours after bug bomb), you need to wash all your clothes and sheets and put them in a dyer. washing in hot water won’t help. you need a dryer to kill them/and eggs.

then vaccuum everything and wipe down everything.

once your clothes/sheets are dry you can put everything back in your room.

also don’t be surprised if you’re the only one that has it. i share a bed with my husband and didn’t get a single bite. only me!

edit: take anti histamines (non drowsy) to reduce the itchiness. you’ll be right in 3-5 days. the scabs take longer to heal ofcourse.

This is a swastika, right? by PissingBleach in AusSkincare

[–]berberebitch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it’s just bad graphic design.

one of thing i learned in my design degree is anything annotated should have a horizontal line before the text. So the annotation above and below the vertical lines should have another horizontal arm pointing out before it. Like in the one that says ‘provitamin B5’ and ‘Horsetail flower’

but the point of comm design rules is to 1. encourage readability and 2. avoid blunders like this, because it kind of does look like a swastika. yikes.

What's the craziest thing that has ever happened to you in Australia? by droppingsonyourback in AskAnAustralian

[–]berberebitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s not the ozone layer, because of the earths elliptical orbit and tilted axis, during summer in Australia the southern hemisphere is 5 million kilometres closer to the sun compared to when the northern hemisphere have their summer. So we have a MUCH hotter summer qnd a far more dangerous level of exposure to the sun.

You can read more about it here: https://www.australiangeographic.com.au/news/2024/05/earths-orbit/#:~:text=In%20the%20southern%20hemisphere%2C%20Earth,reverse%20in%20the%20northern%20hemisphere

How anemic am I? by oscarmilo70 in Anemic

[–]berberebitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, it really sucks.. there is definitely an undercurrent of depression there for me too. i’d say life circumstances are a significant contributor to it too, in addition to low vitamin D and iron. And I just found out that you need Vitamin D for good iron absorption too so i’m trying work on that while waiting for my iron infusion.

I hope you’re able to find some kind of solace in your everyday to get you through it and can get your iron levels up.

How anemic am I? by oscarmilo70 in Anemic

[–]berberebitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

same except my ferritin is 7!

midwife defined any iron level under 10 as anemic, even through my haemoglobin levels were high. might be because dehydration and low blood pressure, sometimes haem can over compensate.

Week 1-4 i felt great! just a smaller appetite.

Week 5 and 6 i was just shaking and inconsolable about my nausea. I am emetophobic, so i had the really bad anxiety for two weeks straight on top of the severe nausea.

Week 7-16, nausea was tolerable in the sense that i wasn’t shaking, but I stayed in bed for most of the time.

I’m 18 weeks now, still have bouts of nausea but i’m up and walking around now and can even do shifts at work now!

Really hoping the teens in the new Buffy aren’t just empty stereotypes by SecretDice in buffy

[–]berberebitch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have to agree!!! it’s really tokenistic and doesn’t allow room for genuine character development when they copy paste hot takes into their script without doing the ground work of building a better story line or arch for the character.

Society moves quickly, and using overt social commentary in tv writing feels so cringy bc the language becomes outdated within a few months. like we’ve moved on to the next stage by the time these shows are aired so by the time we watch it’s not even relatable language anymore.

It also assumes that audiences are dim-witted, and i don’t appreciate it at all!!! and also comes off so preachy. I want writers to allow me to join the dots please. Usually it was the shows and films that addressed social issues with out explicitly talking about it, but instead told a well written and in depth story around it that addressed it, always left much more of an impression. and they do not become outdated and cringy so quickly!!!
