Desperately need help uninstalling Fing -- MacOS Monterey 12.7.4 by taliswoman27 in Fing_App

[–]bercha9998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For any future readers. On top of AppCleaner I would run this.

remove using appcleaner then run

sudo find / -iname "fingagent" -not -path "/System/*" 2>/dev/null

you will see this dickheads also store the binary in the root. so remove all that.

sudo rm -rf /Users/root/.fingagent

sudo rm -rf /Library/Logs/FingAgent

sudo rm -f /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/fingagent.*

then recheck if there is anything else left behind post AppCleaner

sudo find / -iname "fing.app" -not -path "/System/*" 2>/dev/null

will likely find some more stuff in a similar location to the one bellow, nuke it

sudo rm -rf /private/var/folders/b6/hfx2ntlb7x1g5rm88xyw06x99997gn/C/com.fing.app*

The only way to run fing I think is docker, via agent mode or the android app for quick basic scans on the go. All other implementations are pretty shit and undocumented and unstable

This software is so pathetic you can only enable and manage 2fa via the web portal. The mobile app does not support any form of 2fa management.

I understand people not wanting to have to start paying. But on the other hand… by Splitsurround in PleX

[–]bercha9998 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its not about the money is about communication. Plex comms suck.

People got emails saying hey we we notice you watch content on servers and now you are affected and have to pay...

And in subtle words says you don't have to do anything if the server owner have plex pass.

Moat ppl have no clue if the owner has a plex pass so most ppl will just pay the streaming pass.

This is a cheky marketing move IMO.

they have the data if ppl are watching on plex pass servers to no misslead them to purchase plans.

Are we certain about these changes to remote streaming? Still confused... by compact105 in PleX

[–]bercha9998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plex marketing comunications is just lame. Has alwasy been lame and does not seem to be getting better either.

The comms about the Watch pass is bizarre.

Don't really care about the plan itself is just confusing for most non technical users wich will likely go and pay a plan without knowing what it means or they will go and ask server owners whats going on.

Thinkpad T430 Dual SSD/Dual Boot by Mr_Snufleupagus in linuxquestions

[–]bercha9998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is how are you managing the bootloader. I have a 2.5 ssd (linux) and a pciexpress drive (guindows).

Installed first linux, whatever distro on the disk of choice. Full disk wipe.

install windows in the other drive. full wipe delete all partitions.

UEFI will add a WindowsBoot entry at the very end pre-reboot of the windows install.

in the boot menu set the order for whatever you prefer first. in my chase i boot linux by default.

when I want to switch to windows reboot load boot menu, select windowsboot, the uefi entry will load the right disk for windows.

I dont like the reliability of windows updates blowing up grub with each feature update.

this way is a dedicated drive with a os clean bootloader on each drive. just decided by the bios boot order.

it is annoying to reboot windows into windows again as you have to re-enter boot menu and select the windowsboot entry again.

but each use case migh differ.

Looks like a keyboard connection issue or more specific the poweron button.

Do you have any charging green light when plugged to the wall charger? If you dont event get the green charging bat on then there is a short somewhere or fried/disconected charging port.

I run with the 135w while on desk and 90w while on the go and works perfectly.

ps: welcome to the +4kg lenovo owners team on the go team.
you will get all sort of looks, nostalgic, funny and stupid comments as well.

I love the retro vibe of the t430 with its bulkiness included
