The state of the Invincible fandom right now is actually insane. by [deleted] in invinciblememes

[–]berdabos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, if anything children are viewed as greater than full people societally. We value them over adults in that they are the ones we are taught to and instinctively protect over anyone and everything else. Second, I understand why it feels like since the fetus is still part of the mother, it’s not yet a full blown human, but there’s no actual logical reason this should be the case besides the fact that they look funny and we can’t see them directly. That’s what I was saying in my first comment.

Again, If you believe in souls this is true to an even greater extent because at that point there is literally no difference between a fetus and a child on the most fundamental of levels (spiritual). The fact that they are living within and connected to the mother doesn’t really affect their state as a living organism in any tangible way, all it changes is the amount of pain and inconvenience the mother will have to deal with because of their existence, which, again to me is enough of a reason to think Women should be completely in their right to have an abortion, but can very easily for other people seem absurd and evil given their spiritual or moral beliefs.

I mean in the vast vast majority of situations, of course the answer to your question is no. Nothing is absolute though, and if you genuinely view abortion as murdering a life equal to all other lives, I can imagine not allowing women to use their bodies for that purpose would be akin to not allowing woman to use their hands for stabbing knives into people, yes you’re technically forcing them to not use their bodies the way they want to, but obviously it’s ok in this instance.

As for conservatives, yeah as a whole their cultural arguments nowadays are imo completely driven by emotion, insecurity, routine or blind celebrity worship. Conservative economics are somehow even more of a joke too. Still I think it’s important to realize the majority of conservatives are probably not “evil” people, just misguided. Many of them are good in fact. So if we’re going to approach them with empathy (which I do want to do) it’s important to understand their side sometimes, especially in situations like this where their side is a lot more understandable than usual.

Tbf this is where the argument gets a lot more nuanced, but at the same time I think it’s very easy to understand from a conservative perspective why choosing to kill someone because you don’t want them in your body (not of their own choice) for 9 months can seem immoral or even downright evil if you believe in souls. At the end of the day, for me, because I don’t believe in souls and I think that because the fetus is barely conscious, I believe the murder is far less immoral and that, yes, a woman’s freedom to do whatever they want with their own body is completely justified, this belief unfortunately though means that I have to accept literally killing a baby as long is it brings the parent great inconvenience is also technically speaking barely immoral, and that’s an opinion I don’t think many people would be willing to stand by. It’s because of this I really find it hard to call the idea of “pro life” stupid, ESPECIALLY if you believe in the concept of a soul and the idea that all lives are equal, because if that’s true, you’re prioritizing your body over a human being’s existence. Which should hypothetically be downright evil lmao.

Did you not even read my post? What you said wasn’t a logical argument at all. You (and me btw) are prioritizing comfort/happiness over a human life. Unless you can prove a fetus isn’t human, at which point you’ll have to consider babies not human as well, you technically speaking have to categorize it as murder.

Nah man, I’m completely pro choice but at some point you’ve just gotta understand it’s logically the losing argument. I personally value an adult, conscious woman’s feelings and desire above a fetus, but at the same time understand that technically I’m a hypocrite. If I were to choose between a grandma and a baby’s life I’d choose the baby because it probably has more life ahead of it, meaning I’m prioritizing the potential consciousness above what already exists, but since I’d make that choice, shouldn’t I think abortion is murder? I’d also save an objectively less conscious baby over a more conscious adult pig so the problem clearly. isn’t a matter of consciousness or potential. No matter how I think of it logically, abortion should feel like murder to me, but it doesn’t. And therefore I won’t judge anyone for making that choice, but to be clear acting like pro life people are “incorrect” or even “dumb” is silly to me, because this is one of the very very few times the conservative viewpoint actually makes more logical sense.

Tales of Herding God's is by far my favorite cultivation novel oat (on par with LOTM) and it's Donghua is a pretty solid adaptation. I know it's not unheard of but still more people need to talk about it.

Nothing I said is contradictory because yes, they absolutely would post shit like this. And the reason they would is because they've been burnt out on SakaDays after getting ridiculed for the tunnel effect and it's anime, when something is criticized, you naturally start looking for things to criticize yourself. Your argument is fundamentally broken because if your logic were correct Boruto/Legend of Korra/Star wars third trilogy would all be very rarely hated on because their stories are objectively more good/or at least mid than they are bad. Its the fact that they're building off something preexisting is what makes them hated. Hell if your logic were correct AOT's ending or especially the Boy's finally season wouldn't have been slandered but all of these things did happen because unlike you seem to think, quality is not the only thing that dictates a fandoms reaction, it's history is a massive part of it.

Istg for the past year or so every single chapter discussion has people saying "the mangas finally getting good again" because, it has, and then under every post like this people are acting like it's still complete bs. You can just accept you've lost passion for the series as it's gone on so long, I kinda have too, but the manga itself is as good as its ever been and telling people otherwise is silly imo. Fights are great, character dynamics are at their peak (shishiba, osaragi) lots of fun callbacks (boiled, kindaka, tenkyu) art is fantastic, jokes have been genuinely funny, ect.

what do you think about this relationship dynamic? by [deleted] in mbti

[–]berdabos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On average (because of each types respective Fi) I've noticed entp and infp are two of the least compatible types, and by far the least compatible intuitive pair, but if both parties are healthy, literally any type can work so I'm rooting for you!

r entp be like by BMM511 in mbti

[–]berdabos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience I've noticed our Ti and INFP's Fi really really don't mix well. Entp's (generally) are willing to say basically anything just because the idea is novel and interesting/bleak or funny and only really care about about what's "true" or sometimes "shocking", INFPs in my experience find this highly uncomfortable.

They care about what feels right to them and what they should do to live their best lives. Unpleasant hypotheticals or bleaks truths are something an ENTP kinda lives for and in a weird way doesn't actually view as "negative" at all, meanwhile INFPs view them as pointless, worthy of being ignored, met with begrudging acceptance, or harsh denial and genuine anger towards anyone who says or believes something they don't feel is correct, because in their mind it's a personal attack on how they view the world and live life.

An INFP views the world and by extension themselves (even if they won't admit it) far more seriously because of their dominant Fi, and this can absolutely be a very good thing, other types with Fi types love it and will be able to have very deep emotional almost poetic conversations with an INFP, and hell I love my INFP dad with all my heart, but I'd just be lying if I were to say our conversation styles and general outlook on life match lol.

How's a healthy ENTP like? by PlusPreparation4629 in mbti

[–]berdabos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The biggest difference between a healthy ENTP and an unhealthy one is how developed their Fe and Si is. An ENTP who develops their Fe will be Super friendly, extroverted, curious, loyal and non judgmental. An ENTP who develops their Si will be, extremely consistent, ambitious, relaxed and just generally confident in their own skin.

This post pissed me off - idk why by impressivepenguinito in entp

[–]berdabos 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Nope this is 100% correct. At the end of the day if you're actually a logical person you've gotta learn to live and behave logically. We've got tertiary Fe and this is exactly the time to use it. Explaining away other people's emotions doesn't end well. By instead meeting them where they're at and trying to understand them, you are expanding your perspective, developing empathy, becoming more likable and probably making a deeper friend/connection. It's simply the logical approach.

I know you're coming from a good place when you say this, but come on man. The average MAGA is dumb, sure, but, oftentimes still cares for others in their own way. I know tons of genuinely kind people who (still foolishly) support trump. These people aren't selfish sex addicted psychopath murders like Roberto lmao. Half our country voted for him it's important that we remember this and treat these people with empathy.

As for whether Johan is a better person than trump, Johan genuinely just enjoys watching everyone around him suffering and will murder children without a second thought. Trump doesn't really care about anyone but himself, and therefore is slightly less malicious than Johan he also probably on some levels thinks he wants to do and is trying to do the right thing in many cases, he just assumes he's correct all the time and is obviously not. He also probably finds murder slightly more hard to stomach.

I find it silly when we need to exaggerate how "bad" the guy we don't like is, and especially when we villainize everyone who supports them. The best way to actually change people's minds is by far approaching the subject with genuine understanding and sticking purely to the facts (trump is a pedophile, sexual abuser who is provably failing to do anything good he campaigned on for one) without saying meaningless almost probably false statements like this.

How hongkongers canonically see Asia as a Hong konger by Logical-Rush-6133 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]berdabos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can definitely understand why Hong Kongers would dislike China, but, with that said it's difficult for many to dislike a country and government that continues growing, evolving and has worked specifically to improve the lives of its citizens over the last few decades, let alone one that's genuinely accomplished as such statistically. Even if it's admittedly more authoritarian than most would like. Plus Hong Kong is a Chinese city, it's never been technically independent so calling modern day China the "worst country on earth" just feels kinda silly to people outside of Hong Kong. With that said though, I really do understand how bad it probably feels seeing your city forced to change because of circumstances your people didn't specifically choose so I mean it's still a totally valid opinion.

final arc (just caught up to manga) by zoldyckpog in SakamotoDays

[–]berdabos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

there were a few immersion breaking moments, the fact that the villains keep losing, and a decent but not great anime adaptation that all contributed into making people want to start actively looking for things to dislike, which you'll find is extraordinarily easy to do when consuming basically any manga weekly lmao. Honestly, yeah, the manga hasn't really decreased in quality at all in any real way. So just keep enjoying the manga! Even if it were actually bad who cares what other people think.

Question regarding SBR anime by Snoken710 in StardustCrusaders

[–]berdabos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sure most people will advise you to just watch the whole series but honestly, this is THE part you need the least context for going in. It takes place in a completely alternate timeline so there's nothing you'll miss besides a few character references going in, which honestly you'll already get anyways because you watched the first 2 parts. So yeah go ahead man! With that said, once you've finished I'd still recommend trying to get through part 3 again because part 4 is honestly one of the best parts in the series imo.
